Bone and Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh will always be a fond memory for me.  Not only did I love all of the character deigns by A.A. Milne, but it was also my entry into the world of theater.  My grade school put on a Winnie the Pooh play, and they cast me as Tigger, fitting for a hyperactive redhead.  I loved being on stage and the attention I got, and I stayed active in the theater arts for decades afterwards.  Bone is one of those comics that captures the magical, whimsical feel of Pooh and his forest friends.

It's great to see Winnie in these pages. I hope he makes a return engagement some day... as long as it's not opposite, say, Spawn.

I missed out on a chance to play Snoopy in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" a few years ago. I hope there's an adult-format Winnie the Pooh play, though, so I can maybe play either Tigger or Eeyore.

For some reason, the "cover" reminds me of an innuendo-filled pastiche of the British comic strip, "Rupert the Bear," that was previously alluded to in LOEG!

Bone couldn't be that popular. Otherwise, Red Anvil would've finally published "War Of The Independents" #5 by now!
