The Fantastic Four and The Incredibles

Given the power sets and the family aspect, it's clear to see that The Fantastic Four was a major inspiration for The Incredibles, so it would definitely be fun to see the two teams meet. Pixar seems to be open to sequels with Toy Story, Monsters inc., Cars and Finding Nemo receiving follow up installments, so I hope they finally give The Incredibles another cinematic outing.  I would love to see what director Brad Bird has in mind for the next chapter in their story.  The FF are currently in line for a cinematic reboot, but too little has been released yet for me to determine whether they will be improving on the previous franchise or straying further from the original concept.

Unless all the stars and planets align properly with a strong story and Brad Bird back, I'm good with the story the first movie told. Less chance for disappointment. But, yeah, I would LOVE to see a sequel!

I'm hoping that the new FF misses a deadline so that the rights revert to Marvel/Disney. Since Spider-Man and X-Men seem to be doing okay, I'd like to see Daredevil, the FF and Punisher back home where they belong. There were only a couple of MAJOR points I would have liked to see different in either of the two films...I still enjoyed them. Don't judge.

I agree with AirDave, I was very much looking forward to seeing the sequel to Kick Ass, until I saw what a major disappointment it was within 15-20 minutes into the film. That was a terrible sequel and I would not want The Incredibles to suffer a similar fate. The director of Chronicles is behind the reboot of the Fantastic Four and YES, I have no problems with a more realistic, "gritty" take on the group (let the hate mail begin!) so I am happy with the selection.

@ Annonymous - I don't know about Darth Vader. Maybe it should just be Anakin from Episode Two or even the Clone Wars. Still, that sounds good.

Also, why haven't we seen a crossover between these two teams yet? They both belong to Disney now, so it's really not even that hard. I'd definitely buy it!

Interesting team concept, but a tough one to find images for...

If Disney ever does combine Pixar and Marvel properties and these teams do meet (making this post violate the blog's directive), you could update it by pairing either team here with Astro City's First Family or the cabal at work behind "Planetary", who were obviously based on the Fantastic Four.

absolutely perfect pairing between the two universes. I always had a notion that the Incredibles were just like the Fantastic Four. And now we'll see them duke it out. The Thing vs Mr. Incredible. Mr. Fantastic vs Elasti-girl. Violet vs the Invisible Woman. And Dash vs the Human Torch.
