Batman and Phantom Lady (Retro)
There's been a lot of discussion lately regarding superheroines' costumes, what with DC redesigning a lot of their characters outfits in order to show less skin. While I understand the desire to make the costumes more utilitarian and believable (not to mention easier to translate into live action), female superheroes in skimpy outfits is hardly anything new. The original Phantom Lady was using her sex appeal and scantily clad looks decades before the likes of Witchblade and the White Queen hit the scene. I guess nothing stopped a crook in his tracks like a little leg or cleavage showing, and that gave her a couple of extra seconds to leap into action and lay the smack down!

Miss Fury wore a full-body catsuit decades before Catwoman ever did and was much sexier in her poses and behavior than the bare-shouldered, bare-kneed Wonder Woman of the time (the 1940's). Maybe I'm just too old to be fooled into associating skin with sex.
Hell, Swamp Thing walks around naked all the time and nobody says anything about it. Well, not to his face.
Interesting choice to use the FOX version of Phantom Lady than the Quality/DC Version.
Dave sez,
Did she become Phantom Girl and Starman/Ted Knight's cousin at DC? Or am I thinking of another character?
I love your retro covers. How about a team up with Captain Sprocket from Archie comics?

Phantom GIRL was a member of the futuristic Legion of Super Heroes.
Phantom Lady here became a Quality Comics character which later was acquired by DC, switched to the more familiar yellow and green outfit with the departure from Fox. This character was later retconned into being Ted Knight's cousin.
