ROM in Camelot 3000

I bet a good writer could make a cool story out of this set up.  King Arthur is always looking for a few good knights to fill out his Round Table, after all.  It only follows that a futuristic Arthur would want a space age knight for the job.

You don't see a lot of medieval fantasy IN SPACE anymore. Star Wars is the only thing that SORTA has that vibe, but not really.

A Space Western would be neat to see too.

Anything more than "We're the only Survivors of a crash and we need to use basic skills to survive long enough before we're rescued" if that.

Blending high fantasy and space opera is something I've been wanting to do for years, in a setting I call Space Wizards. Imagine a galaxy where Wanda Maximoff and Zatanna Zatara can join the crew of the Enterprise and help fighting Lo Pan, and you have a general idea.

Never followed either comic, but a great cover. Speaking of knights, ever done anything with the Atomic Knights?

Camelot 3000 King Arthur, Marvel Black Knight, DC's Shining Knight, and Prince Valiant would be cool.

Actually, I think Marvel once did a one-shot story about Rom taking on Morgan Le Fay with the help of King Arthur's spirit (and those of his knights).

The gone-to-soon Firefly series was designed to be a Space Western, although it drifted away from that quickly. The various books it spawned, with more time to show the state of the post- Civil War galaxy and the trials from still being deeply committed to the losing side, do a good job of invoking that vibe.

Alien/stranger comes to town/planet. Middle of a territory dispute. Other guy has the water way/grazing land/space port. There's a big treasure missing/lost. Will the stranger be able to make a difference? Watch him ROM IT UP!!

@Carycomic: you're half-right. ROM, SPACEKNIGHT #37 did feature cameo appearances by the spirits of King Arthur and his knights. But, Morgan Le Fay made nonesuch. Just her ruined castle!

Those look like dianogas to the left and right behind Rom.

P.S. @Anon846: Charlton Comics published a sci-western series back in 1952. "Spurs Jackson and his Space Vigilantes."

I wonder how Spurs Jackson would deal with Han Solo?

Or even Quickdraw McGraw?
