Galactus Vs. Swamp Thing

This is a battle that I would love to see.  These two characters are both immensely powerful, but have vastly different types of abilities at their disposal.  I can see it resulting in page after page of wide screen action.  The right artist could really make their confrontation a visual treat.

That's a hell of a bucket list you got there man. First Stark with Ragman now this?
Holland won't last long with big G' s energy devourers but potentials for jamming some of Galactus' systems might be there too.
Now that I think of it, can Galactus invade Hell for an energy snack? Galactus vs
Hela and Demon?

Ah! But, Swampy might have a chance if he could psychically link up with the rest of the Parliament of Trees. Which, in the Ross-verse, might very well include Sequoya! Son of Mantis and the Elder Cotati (in his phyto-genetic clone of the Swordsman).

@ Cary and DT---it looks like Alec is "pining" for just such a union, right now.

@Anonymous: Ugh! Just for that...

Ross, your selection of image for Galactus is dead-on. He certainly looks like he's getting fed up* with what's standing in his way.

As for Swampy... this is the weirdest rendering of him that I think I've ever seen, and I've seen some pretty weird ones. I'm itching to find out what was going on with him in the original story.

@Cary: Oak-kay. As soon as I'm done laughing.

*Pun not intended, but appreciated.

Not an easy row to hoe!
Will Galactus go vegan?
Will he be salad-barred?
Tune in for the next episode-
Same snack-time,
Same snack-channel!

On a side note: how about Blade vs. the Green Lantern of Earth 43?

I can see the word balloons, now.

BLADE: "Hannibal King? Is that you?"
GL: "Never heard of him, dude. The moniker is Hal Jordan!"

That's the meat of the joke. Photo-captures of Wesley Snipes and Ryan Reynolds (a la movie poster simulation) would be gravy!

P.S.---blame Ken for making me think of food references. ;-)

Ouch! Well, Anon at 11:06 AM, it's like what Mrs. Claus from Rankin/Bass always says: "Eat Papa, EAT!" Now there's a blind dinner date for Galactus.

A photo cover with Wesley Snipes as Blade you say? Interesting...

Hey, a Snipes/Blade cover would be great with Keaton/Batman!

Oh, and it just occurred to me that Kang the Conqueror vs. Ming the Merciless might be an interesting match-up -- especially if Ming turns out to be yet another of Kang's alternate selves.

Separately, a multi-parter with all of Kang's various identities might be a fun project. It could go something like:

1. Immortus and the Phantom Stranger (tasking the latter with gathering a team)
2. Iron Lad and Superboy (Con-El)
3. Rama-Tut vs. The Doctor
4. Victor Timely vs. the Shadow
5. Scarlet Centurion vs. Ghost (Dark Horse)
6. All of the above heroes (including Iron Lad) as "The Time Guardians" vs. Kang

Snipes Blade with Keaton Batman? That's even more interesting...

@Ken: see what comes from planting the seeds of fruitful ideas? ;-)

Lol! That reminds of a classic gag from THE FLINTSTONES. An overconfident Ken-rocky colonel says, to Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble, at a dinosaur racetrack, just before the colonel's dino is passed out at literally the last second:

"I say, I say here's a tip, gents. Don't bet on the races!"

Carycomic said...

Which reminds me...

Dear Ross: How about Fred Flintstone literally in the palm of Giganta's hand? If worse comes to worst, you could even recycle Fred's image from STF # 3331!

But will this be a tough fight for the Big G? Or is Swampy [unknowingly] just serving-up a high proportion of the Earth's life-force concentrated into one convenient package?

Anonymous said...

Yes he can. He has invaded Mephisto's realm and even proceeded to devour it.

How would Swamp Thing get into outer space, though? Using a power ring loaned him by GL Medphyll?
