Spider-Woman and Black Canary

Sony really wants to explore its roster of Spider-Man related characters.  We've seen two Venom movies plus Morbius, and now Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web are in production.  The obvious question that comes to mind is - where is word of a Spider-Woman movie?  I'd think she would get the nod before more solo villain stories.

We're more likely to see the DC movie debut of "Richard Dragon, King Fu Fighter," before that happens. :-(

El Muerto, a Spidey villain with a grand total of two appearances, also got a project announced this week by Sony. When will we see him in a STF cover? Lol

Apparently Spider-Woman is going to show up in the second animated "Into the Spider-Verse" movie, so that may be a trial run for a live action flick. Unless Marvel decides to use her first (Disney+ ?). She's a "shared rights" character like Quicksilver so Marvel can use her as long as there is no Spider-Man involvement, which would probably exclude from any Avengers stuff.

Spider-Woman is so unique when compared with all of the "Spider-Verse" characters. Her origin is a bit convoluted, but that keeps it interesting. I always thought this particular costume was really good as well.

Actually, a reported spinoff movie is Spider-Women, bringing back Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy with Jessica Drew and Cindy Moon.

And yes, Amy Pascal is quite determined to push forward with developing the Marvel properties that Sony has the motion picture rights to. She and others there have been wanting for about a decade to do a Sinister Six movie, and the success of Venom (both of them) and Morbius means that they'll probably get their wish.

PS: I'm getting ready to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starting in about an hour. I'll probably post a bunch of spoilers here, but don't worry; they'll all be complete lies.

Like the next sequel will be "Dr. Strange vs. the Evil Dead"?

I recognize the Spider Woman pose from What If 17. Where is the Black Canary from?

@Cary: I was thinking more along the lines of stuff like cameos by Finn Jones, Lou Ferrigno, and Old Mater.

Ooops! I totally forgot to comment on today's cover!!

I wonder what these two ladies' did to Kingpin to warrant being the intended targets of a murder contract? But, then, I look at that uncharacteristic smirk on his face and I ask myself: "What if that isn't Kingpin at all? What if it's a telepathically controlled robot double of him from Murder World built by...Arcade?"

Ooh, ooh, ooh. something different. Give Kingpin The MASK! He's gotten more active over the years. He'll pull his weight. And having him using the Mask should put it to some new levels of creative "chicanery".

Or, better yet, Arcade vs. The Mask!

Relevant to another upcoming Marvel movie:

How about Bugs Bunny vs. Gorr the God-Butcher?

@Bob: "Of course, you realize that would mean war!"
