Cooperation will have to wait. These two are going to have to fight first.
But over what? The true name of Hollow Earth? (Maybe they are both lost? - maybe this is the Savage Land?)

You're right, Ross; this is a natural pairing that should've happened before now, and I too am glad to see it corrected. This is a great cover for bringing these two together for the first time.
Here's another (and I remembered to check this time, both on the blog and real comics): Dick Tracy and Mystery, Inc. (Scooby Doo)! And of course the culprit there is Mysterio.
I remember enjoying Mike Grell's run on the LSH, even though I didn't care for some of the costume designs and something always bugs me about the way he draws noses -- for some reason they almost always look two-dimensional (the Green Arrow sketch you have here is a notable exception), and that stands out in his otherwise quite dynamic work.
@Dave: The inevitable initial fight probably comes before this moment in the story, upon Tarzan's arrival, as Warlord mistakenly thinks that Tarzan is responsible for the problem.
Bob is right. A crossover like this would've been obliged (by the writing tropes of the time) to begin with a mistaken identity slugfest. But I, for one, would've been consoled if the interior artists had remained faithful to the cover depicton of Tarzan riding a thipdar.*
*Pteranodons who were, to the sentient telepathic mahars, what gorillas and chimps are to Homo sapiens.
@Davejonz: more likely, some third party has framed each of them for the "murder" of David Innes.
