The Metal Men first clashed with the U-Foes in STF #3101... and I liked the match up enough that I felt that it warranted a re-match. I am once again reading rumors of a Metal Men movie in the works, but this time it looks like the plan is for an animated film rather than live action, as previously announced. I have a little more confidence that the feature will actually be made if that is the case.

DC has accredited itself since the early 1990s with a whole lot of better annimation.
(Until they went cheap on Batman animated's third year.) (Or went comedic style like with the shorts like Animal Man.) At least we know they are capable of doing a good job.
As for this month? Norman Osborne is in charge of the Dark Avengers and has deputized the U-Foes for what he considers minor jobs.
Is it a U-foe? It's not a my foe!!
If this were the Silver Age DC multiverse, I'd guess that the Metal Men had ended up on Earth-Three, where counterparts of the U-Foes might be heroes! But, as this is the Ross-verse, I'll second-guess myself and say that these U-Foes are working for his version of the the Suicide Squad.*
*Man! Is there anybody The Wall _can't_ recruit?
Thanks for the Bob Haney reference. In my opinion he is a vastly underrated stalwart of DC's silver and bronze ages....
I've always liked the U-Foes. With all of the gamma-spawn, spider-bit, and uru-wielding people in the Marvel U, why not another cosmic ray-generated team?
ufoes vs fearsome 5 or fatal five
How about U-Foes vs. Inferior Five?
