Union Jack and Sgt. Rock

Union Jack made an immediate impression on me due to his striking costume.  There are a lot of heroes that use national flags as the template for their costumes, but this is one of the most effective.  I'd love to see him translated into live action - even if the producers most likely would probably not let him wear a full face covering mask for very long.

OK, the creature is from Hell and is not an ally. The graveyard has a entrance to Hell? This made for one hell of a cover.
Regarding U.J.....hire a young unknown, a great stunt double out there, and plenty of screen time in the secret identity. That should help salve the ego of who might get involved.

Tobor's not kidding. Wherever you captured that creature's image from, it is suitably scary. Almost like the fossilized zombie of a xenomorph! One has to wonder if the Nazis obtained it from Tunguska.

As to a Union Jack movie? If Marvel Films could co-produce it in partnership with the ones who did the Kingsmen films, it might stand a chance at the box office. Otherwise, I'm just as dubious about it as you are about a feature film from DC about The Atom.

hey Ross...
an observation....
you have used three comic art images of Stan Lee as Stan Lee on covers on the blog and as such when you look up his name in the index it says (3)....
however when you look up the name Jack Kirby it says (249) but he has not appeared on any covers at all....
a little out of balance given how important the man was and is still to this art form and the comics industry....
especially when you consider how often images of Jack have shown up in comics and covers....
i think we are long over due for "The King" to show up on one of your cover creations....
and as a second idea, I propose that a Bill Bixby version of David Banner show up in a transformation to Lou/Hulk with a Yvonne Craig version of Batgirl, who has already appeared here a few times....
i was of course thinking of this as a photo cover which would be because Bill and Yvonne were a couple for many years....
(drop the challenge glove)
i know you are the King of cover mashups so you can do, i have no doubt....
thanks for listening to me rant....

With a little luck, Union Jack will appear in some upcoming project as a secondary character, probably Captain Britain. Maybe Marvel could even initiate a WWI-set Disney+ series.

@jack-el: The reason Kirby's name has appeared so many times is, of course, because he's drawn so much; Ross tags the artists for each cover. Not that it wouldn't be great to have a self-portrait show up here; maybe the Eternals can set out to rescue him from Darkseid or something.

On your other topic, I'll second the Ferrigno/Craig suggestion.

It won't be posted for some time but I just happened to make a cover featuring Yvonne Craig last night.

I've wanted to do a Kirby cover too. One of these days.

hey Ross, did you know that the real live Jack Kirby appeared on a comic cover as a crook????
and he was being arrested by Joe Simon who was portraying a policeman....
it was on Headline Comics #37....
and on a different comic from the same time the Black Rider (#8) was played by none other than a young guy named Stan Lee....
(both are photo covers....)
just for your information.....

Speaking of Jack Kirby: how about having Kamandi meet the High Evolutionary?

Here's a photo-cover thought: Keaton & Snipes and Batman and Blade. It wouldn't be the first Gotham vampire story, and the team-up would've gone over like gangbusters had it been done for real. (Yeah, the two characters did meet way back in the B&B days, but this is for a photo match-up.)

@Bob & Ross: I can see the title, now.

"Red Rain: The Movie!"

Great cover! UNION JACK was a favorite of mine in The INVADERS and the mighty SGT.ROCK is always welcome for a team-up.

Only let him remove the mask if he wears a crown.
He can say so movie BS like this crown used to belong to first king of Great Britain.

As in, Athelstan (first King of England) or George I (first King of the UK, post-1707)?
