With all the talk of superhero multiverses lately, the rest of the world is just catching up to the cool crossover possibilities that visitors to this blog have been aware of for a decade plus! Here's another concept that might be cool to explore in the screen - the medieval heroes of Marvel and DC in the world of The Lord of the Rings! Well, I'd be interested in checking it out anyway!
These two Knights first crossed paths way back in STF #138...

Another "Shut up and take my money" moment.
"Together again...for two knights only!"
Whoa! Etrigan vs. Gandalf? A heady concept, indeed. But, given the connection through Merlin, wouldn't some kind of meet-up with Harry Potter and friends be more logical?
As to the LOTR angle; how about Sauron, Lord of Mordor, vs. Sauron the X-men foe somewhere down the line?
This simply supports the assertion that one does not simply walk into Mordor.
After your delightfully notorious run of handing out Green Lantern rings like candy, and the number of characters who have landed in the Star Wars Universe, maybe we can start having more characters turning up in Middle-Earth. Hellboy, Booster Gold, and Doctor Strange come to mind as three good candidates for this. I mean, really -- having timestorms drop such characters where they can trigger events in The Lord of the Rings would be a fascinating series if were actually being published.
Two of the characters on this cover could be teamed up with the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The obvious one is Marvel's Black Knight. But you could also pair him with Gandalf, and call it "No Passing Zone."
As for Etrigan, I'm suddenly wondering if he likes green eggs and ham.
(Sorry; I have Dr. Seuss on the brain. I've come across a number of questions about him in Alexa Answers. I even thought about how he'd take on The Matrix, in "One Pill, Two Pill, Red Pill, Blue Pill.")
As for the Shining Knight, the only new idea I can come up with for him is with the Seven Soldiers, having that team working with Indiana Jones.

PS: As I closed the window for making the above comment, I suddenly saw these who characters' names, and realized that you've been missing an opportunity to make these two an ongoing thing. They're the light and dark knights! I could see them having an initial conflict like the one seen in #168, but soon becoming fast friends and partners in dealing with certain types of threats.
Here's a duo I don't think you've done: Clea and Jennifer Morgan (from The Warlord) ... both silver sorcerors.
I Never did read Warlord, so I am not familiar with Jennifer Morgan. I have been meaning to use Clea more though.
it was A dark and stormy Knight that initiated the brawl.
How about the Demon vs Ronan the Accuser (in Rohan)?
Afterthought: I do not that the Black Knight has met Batman a couple of times, but if you could find a third character to add, you could call it "Three Dark Knights!" (That might be one good way to bring -- ahem -- joy to the world!)
PS @HHH: What would you say to Ronan and Rodan in Rohan?
Ro-ro-row your boat?
