Brother Voodoo and Doctor Fate in: "Mage Match!"

There was a brief presentation for Black Adam at DC Fandome, but alas - other than an extreme close up, we did not get a look at the costumes for either Doctor Fate or Hawkman.  We did get to see more of the title character though, and while his costume looks great, for me it's undermined by the fact that Adam's signature hairstyle is missing, leaving a bald Rock looking like he does in every other movie. Perhaps Fate can whip up a mystical hairpiece for him?

Brother Voodoo and Doctor Fate first crossed paths in STF #1631...

Always love a good Brother Voodoo cover. Thanks for this tasty tease of what is sure to be a real spellbinder!

nope. Battle for Lord of Sorcery title by Conan style fighting?? Would you do a cover of two muscular women battling by pulling each other's hair? not this time. Have you seen Dr Strange doing a Daredevil styled battle?

Nightmare vs Freddy kruger?

@Triple H: no. But, I once saw him doing a Man-Wolf-styled battle with Spidey! As for hair-pulling between two superheroines? I like to think that happened inside the pages of yesterday's issue.

With these two fighting to be Lord of Sorcery, what about the Sorcerer Supreme? (And the last time I checked, that title in the STFU belonged to Zatanna!)

You could even have all four of the above-referenced heroes (Dr. Fate, Dr. Strange, Br. Voodoo, and Z) plus Gandalf team up for something.

Or, taking a cue from a couple of cosplayers, team up Gandalf with the Black Knight (from Monty Python and the Holy Grail) in a story called "No Passing Zone!"

@HHH & Cary: There might be some hair-pulling if it was Medusa and Entrapta.

How about Brother Voodoo and the superheroic Dr. Voodoo (from Golden Age Fawcett Comics) taking on the latter's super-villainous namesake?

How about Brother Voodoo and Dr. Voodoo in a battle with the Voodoo priest, Houngan from DC's Brotherhood of Evil!

Or the Brain and M'sieur Mallah vs. Pinky and the Brain?

Bob Greenwade said...

@Anon: Several of us have been wanting that for years. Sadly, Ross is not an Animaniacs/Pinky and the Brain fan (to his great detriment, IMO).

PS: I just got done watching Thunderbirds Are Go! on Amazon Prime. I've been wondering if there's any sort of way to draw a familial connection between that Tracy family and a certain square-jawed detective in a yellow trenchcoat.

Maybe the Puppet Master could mind-control Big Richard into going after International Rescue on the grounds that they're illegal vigilantes.

I was thinking more of a time-travel incident where Det. Tracy is transported (thanks to either the Time Trapper's time storms, or the events currently going on in the actual strip) to Tracy Island to meet his great-great-nephews.

With maybe French reporter Tintin along for the ride? He and Dick Tracy haven't teamed up together since STF #218!

@Cary and Bob: don't tell me. Ask Ross! He's the owner. ;-)

@Cary: It would be interesting to see Tintin and Tin-Tin meet. (The name similarity is why the producers of Thunderbirds Are Go! decided to change her name to Tanusha "Kayo" Kyrano -- they didn't want to risk a copyright/trademark issue.)

I completely forgot about Alan Tracy's girlfriend! Good catch, Bob.

What Carycomic said.

We could also go really bonkers, and add the smallest Metal Man and a certain heroic dog, so that we have Rin Tin Tin, Tintin, Tin, and Tin-Tin.

What W.C. Fields might've called "a euphonious tintinnabulation."

If the above "tin" scenario were to somehow actually happen, I can see two ways of handling it:

1. Ten of the Royal Flush Gang has trapped them all to form the RFG's newest iteration.

2. "We have no words for what happens herein. Just trust us: it's fun!"
