Sub-Mariner and The Spectre

I can see this being a fiery confrontation.  I just don't imagine these two getting along very well.  Perhaps if Namor can explain that his attacks on the Surface World were acts of vengeance, he can connect with the Spectre on that level, and they might find some common ground?

Hmm. Another nice one. Could Namor be in for a stint under the cowl? If it's good enough for Hal Jordan...?
BTW, any chance we are going to see Subby together again with his Alternate Atlantis buddy, Aquaman? Or his long lost twin, Black Adam?

It looks like they might have "some common ground" right now. Doesn't that big red eye belong to Shuma-Gorath?

More like the new Commander Kraken. Genetically re-engineered by The Jackal.

Namor and Black Adam is a fascinating combination.
I could see them going in conflict if one of Kahndaq 's ships went down.

Namor can use a spanking especially after working with Thanos to destroy parallel worlds.

That's not Topo, but Subby is facing the long arm of the law. Spectre could have done anything to him at any time so chances are communications are in order. What happened now for the Spectre to become interested in Namor?

this just in : Ed Asner, the Emmy-winning character actor best known as Lou Grant, the gruff newsman first introduced on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” has died at 91. He also did Batman,TAS, Superman and Freakazoid. He will be missed. Spectre be nice to him.

Since Ross got me binging Gargoyles now, I can also mention that he voiced Hudson, the older Gargoyle, on that show. His proudest role, though -- if his comments in I Know That Voice are anything to go by -- is as Granny Goodness in the DCAU.

So maybe a decent Asner-oriented tribute could be Hudson vs. Granny Goodness. (And she's only appeared once before on the blog, so the selection of images can't be whittled down too far!) We could even have Granny telling Hudson, "You've got spunk. I hate spunk!")

@ D. Tobor: What would an Italian puppet mouse have against Namor?

@anon 11:21, Topo was Aquaman's pet/ friend/ assistant while he was a back up feature in books like Adventure or World's Finest in the early sixties.

The reference was that the Spectre was controlling the tentacle making contact with Namor. It wasn't acting on its own.

Oh, yeah! Now, I remember. That part of the cover-sim is from the Spectre's Adventure Comics revival, in the late Seventies/early Eighties. When it was initially undecided whether or not the stories were taking place on our Earth.*

*As I recall, the Spectre's version of Carl Kolchak/Jack McGee, in those stories, was sarcastically compared to Clark Kent.
