Storm and Batgirl

I can still remember Kitty Pryde's shocked reaction when Ororo first debuted her new look with the mohawk and leather outfit.  I was just as surprised, this was well before internet spoilers could ruin such a moment and at a time when costume changes were not found as frequently as they are now.  It was a cool look, even though at first I missed that beautiful head of hair and tiara that Storm was famous for.  Chris Claremont provided characterization to go along with the change and it made for some good drama as well.

So Batgirl is full of parasites/ specialized poison/ or a device and she needs the full electric current Storm can provide to save her. (While hoping her costume prevents her from getting fried.) Is that current-ly a Sunday or Tuesday in Gotham these days?

Really enjoyed the results of the Groan Arranger's efforts on the keyboard.

@Det. Tobor: I'd guess a device. One similar to the surgical implant that helped Tony Stark get over his own one-time paralysis (discourtesy of the Marrs siblings, IIRC). But, Batgirl, having been trained by a master, has done a little cyber-vetting...and discovered its secondary mind-controlling aspects.

Hence, the bio-electrical overload of it being moderated by Storm.

As guesses not bad. Overlooked is: training for upcoming obstacle. Or they're both into the S&M style of the month club. Danger room? Who needs a danger R o O M?

Given that this is "Shock Therapy," and because this is Barbara Gordon, my guess would be that she's temporarily taking back the mantle of Batgirl while Cassandra's off doing other stuff with the Silent Partners (as seen just a few days ago), and Storm's electricity powers the re-fusing of the nerves in her spine.

Was not reading X-Men at time when Storm's look was changed so when I saw it I was really shocked. At least it was not pan in the flash writer who made change.

Storm has shown over the years that she is not like Thor and can control amount of electricity she generates. If it has not been done before she should restart a heart with them.

@Bob: that's almost what Carycomic said!

@Anon@10:08: Somehow I'd mis-read Cary's theory, and you're right; the two ideas overlap their most significant point. Combine the two, and we have the makings of a pretty decent story!
