Darth Vader and Galactus

The last time these two appeared together, way back in STF #40, Vader had begun working for Galactus.  I thought that it might be interesting to flip that dynamic for a second meeting between the two. I'm very interested to see how Darth Vader is handled in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.  I'm glad that Hayden Christiansen will get another crack at the role of Anakin Skywalker, hopefully he'll be given better dialogue to work with this time around!

It would be nice if Anakin were more well-rounded like he is in the animated Clone Wars series.

Hey! Not everyone can be James Earl Jones.

Re: the titular question? I would hazard to guess that the Silver Surfer's sister-in-law has stolen...The Ultimate Nullifier! And eternally serving Emperor Palpatine is the price Galactus must pay for its return.

I've heard rumors that Hayden will also be reprising Anakin for Ahsoka, in flashbacks and/or as a Force ghost. He'd have more openings on that show, since Darth Vader will generally sound like James Earl Jones on Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In either show, it'll be interesting to see if Jon Favreau decides to recreate scenes from the Clone Wars and Rebels animated TV shows, especially the duel between Vader and Ahsoka in the latter show's second-season finale "Twilight of the Apprentice."

To invoke the other great American audio-visual SF franchise, how about Jean-Luc Picard must become Galactus's herald as the price for Galactus's destroying the Borg and sparing the worlds of the Federation--if Galactus can do that?

how about galactus battles the world of richie rich's planet collectors, who are literally planet-sized?

@Kid C: Or maybe, as Locutus, he could be leading the fight against Galactus?

It might be fun to see Q taking action against Galactus, too.

I think that TNG's Q could make an appearance giving "enhanced" gadgets to James Bond.

@KC: not a bad idea! And I've got just the right plot gimmick. Picard, Vader, and Galactus are trying to keep Palpatine and the Vorgons from getting their hands on...The Tox-U-Tat!

Would Galactus' machines work any different if a planet was made up of just fiber?

You mean, like the ball of yarn at the end of every MST3K title sequence?

OK, it wasn't just a first impression... every time this picture comes up, I expect to see Galactus dribbling the Death Star like a basketball.

So now I want to see him in that capacity against the Harlem Globetrotters.

Or, even better, playing one-on-one against that Morian ball-hog from LOTR: FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING!

@Anon: You're thinking of the Harvard Lampoon parody, Bored of the Rings, which I don't think has ever had a visual adaptation.

It's THE DEATH STAR BOWLING LEAGUE I came to see. Those are some wicked gutter balls he rolls... but there's never a "spare".

If Galactus was adopted by Peter Cushing's character, would that make him Tarkin-kin?
