There will be a new Scooby Doo movie next year. Scoob, I think it's called. Characters like Dyno-Mutt and Muttley should be in it. But I like the whole HBCU idea. And Jonny Quest, The Herculoids, and Space Ghost deserve their live action flicks.

Opposites don't always attract! This is a FUN cover with a nice dark gray vs bright "white light" cover.
As to going to the movies, DC found Jonny didn't do as well in his later years but putting an eleven year old in that kind of danger might not go over big (except by Damian Wayne).
Regarding SPACE GHOST... we have the technology, but do we have the talent and skill to use it correctly? And how does his equipment work from what power source?
On SyFy's Cartoon Quest (when it was the Sci-Fi Channel), the opening had characters resembling live-action Herculoids.

There was recent DC run Future Quest that connected most of Hanna-Barbera into a shared universe. No reason why that couldn't at least act as a template for a movie verse.
I couldn't agree with you more, Ross. I'd especially like to see JQ done, first. After all; it was the trend-setter! An animated cartoon, done in prime-time, as an action-adventure series a la 007. Paving the way for SPACE GHOST and all the other, mostly serious superhero cartoons on Saturday mornings between 1966 and 1969.
Which episode would get the feature-length first, though? My money would be "The Robot Spy."
The funny thing about this cover is that it could eventually happen, Ross. WB owns both DC and HB, and DC has published annual "DC Meets Hanna-Barbera" events (as I think you well know), so Space Ghost could face down Darkseid at some point in the future. It'd be a while, of course, since he's already had a team-up (with Green Lantern Hal Jordan).
As for an HBCU, I think it could probably turn into something more successful than the DCEU has been (which admittedly isn't saying much, though the latter is showing signs of considerable improvement).
Personally the one HB property that made the biggest impression on me as a kid was the Wacky Races. DC did a "dark and gritty" reimagining called Wacky Raceland (though I haven't yet read it, so I'm not sure whether it's darkly humorous or just dark), and there was a reboot series a couple of years ago, but in any case I prefer the original version. It might be fun to see an entry on this blog, where they're joined by someone like (the occasional Spider-Man villain) Big Wheel.
I miss the days when DC published all the Cartoon Network comics.

I'd love to see a live-acton/CGI version of "Moby Dick vs. The Aqua-Bats!"
The latter were either supposed to be mutated specimens of Ogcocepalhus (aka "batfish"); or degenerate mutant descendants of the original inhabitants of...Batlantis
Would Scooby Apocalypse be in the same universe as the Jetsons?
The Jetsons would probably be closer to LSH. On the other hand, "Scooby Apokolips" would make for a great title if those meddling kids had to rescue their canine companion from being turned into of Darkseid's War Hounds!
Could Kamandi D get in on it too?
I have reviewed a few of the classic HBCU shows including "Jonny Quest" which was just released on BluRay.
