Aquaman Vs. Man-Thing

Man-Thing was name-checked in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but I would like to see him actually included somewhere in the MCU.  I first thought a Doctor Strange sequel might be a good place, but that seems like it has enough going on already.  With talk of Ghost Rider being brought back and Mahershala Ali as Blade, Marvel seems ready to explore their darker side, so maybe a Midnight Sons type of movie could be a way to go.

I love Steve Gerber's Man-Thing run. I agree completely about him joining the MCU, especially with the new shows coming.

The book was often a back door anthology, with the return of Twilight Zone and the success of Black Mirror, now could be something special.

Given how big 20th century period stories are, you could even set it in the 70s.

I'd be willing to plunk down money to see "Man-Thing vs. Dreadface." Guest-starring...Venom and the Punisher!

They'd be good candidates for the "Amalgam" treatment. "Aquaman-thing".

If Marvel decides to continue Cloak and Dagger on Freeform, Man-Thing could make an appearance there. I think it'd be an interesting interaction -- even more so if they decide to strengthen the show's ties to the movies and Disney+ shows.

Actually, Ghost Rider was cancelled. But the Hellstrom series is moving forward.

Where's the Howard the Duck/ Aquaman team up?

Probably still in the planning stages under the tentative tile:

"Garko's Revenge!"

P.S. @Emsley: I think that base is already covered with "Aquamariner" and "The Bat-thing." As in, Aquaman/Sub-mariner and Man-Bat/Man-Thing.

Anybody see The Monitor around here? Just saw Flash and Arrow and oh the feeling of the original Crisis!

No Monitor but how about Wonder Woman's Minotaur?

Carycomic said...

I couldn't find the Minotaur. Would you settle for a Harley-Davidson Motaur?

Anonymous said...

it would Harley be worth it.
