Doc Savage and Buffy Vs. Aliens

I thought I would go for a three-way crossover this time, with action stars from different decades.  An alien queen is nothing to trifle with, but I think that the combined skills of the Man of Bronze and Vampire Slayer could put up a decent fight.  It would be cool to see at least, either in print or live action.

Doc Savage! A totally under utilized character. Great mash up!

Wow! Just, wow!

Not only great art, but you're coloring is superb. Just the right atmosphere. Ross, were you ever an art director or work at an agency?

You know these are mashups, right? I may tweak the coloring brightness, contrast and hue to make the images work better together, but it's already there by the original artists (listed below each cover).

Ross; I wish you were in charge of legally acquiring the rights of these characters so I actually enjoy reading the books rather than imaging the stories for myself. (Doc misreads Buffy as a well intentioned but interfering young lady until she saves him so Savage can go all Gruncle Stan on the Alien Queen.)

I quite agree, Ross. There was a DC mini-series back in the Eighties where Doc was the victim of relativity, a la X-O Manowar, while trapped on another planet via some ancient astronaut tech. The same gimmick could be employed to bring him back to Sunnydale in the Nineties! With one of those pseudo-molluscan facehuggers following along after him (without his knowledge of course)...and subsequently implanting a vampire.

I've always wondered what would happen if someone/something with regenerative capabilities got webbed up and turned into a living incubator by one of those xenomorphs.

I wonder if anyone has figured out how Buffy fits into Philip Jose Farmer's "Wold Newton Family" along with Doc, Tarzan and all their cousins?

Tobor has a good point, though, Ross: You selected these images, and then (as you say) tweaked them to make them work together -- and this is one of your more seamless jobs. One has to look closely to find flaws here, and what I could find (having to do with lightning angles) isn't something you could've done anything about.

I also like Cary's plot-seed idea for this story. From this point the rest more or less writes itself.

And of course MarchHarSupreme just echos what many of us have been saying for years. It's too bad that Disney and Warner can't figure out how to play well with each other, or this could be a great monthly (or even more frequent) title in the real world, and I'd favor you to edit it. I don't think this particular story would be featured in that, of course, but there have been many covers on this blog that could make for great tales. Variations on the Danvers Twins, the Strange Brothers, the Power Couple, and possibly even the Wonder Woman/Captain America romance would get people interested, and a few of the more offbeat tales (Dr. Strange vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk, Ambush Bug vs. Galactus, or Man-Bat vs. The Lizard come right to mind) would do well also.

Unrelated: Just a similarity of situation led me to suggest the Man-Bat/Lizard pairing, so too does a similarity I just recently noticed lead me to this suggestion: Crazy Jane vs. Legion.

I can see the 'comic relief' scenes where Monk and Ham try to outdo each other impressing Buffy and she's trying so hard not to laugh in their faces. Or Doc turning that strange orange-ish color he gets around strong, single women.

Tobor has a good point, though, Ross. etc. etc.

And the defense rests! Mr Greenwade covered all the necessary points very nicely. Clearly, he has had some great debate training. 🏆

@Cambia: it's been posited (by one of the veteran contributors to the WNU website) that Buffy's dad is the half-brother of Jamie "The Bionic Woman" Somers!

I agree with jlbgriggs2 Doc Savage is totally under utilized character.

Ross John Byrne did some licensed Star Trek comics where he used film shots combined with a little art and modifications making the images work better together. You could do that!

Glenn's right. In the Wold Newton Universe, alone, it'd be perfectly appropriate for Doc savage to have been one of Bruce Wayne's many tutors, pre-Batman!

What about Buffy vs the Predator?
