The announcement of a Supergirl movie in development has me scratching my head. The Supergirl TV series is going strong, and covers that corner of the DCU pretty well, so a movie seems redundant at this point. A better idea would be a movie focusing on one character that for some reason has never made her way on to the CW series... Power Girl!
This is the sixth appearance of The Power Couple. They last had an animated adventure at Project Cadmus in STF #2133, They battled The Parasite in STF #2064, they found a bounty on their heads in STF #1892, faced the mob together in STF #773 and first met in STF #71...

Great cover!
I have a fondness for DC characters...
For the life of me I just can not stay interested in live action anymore. It's like they're throwing darts. It's all random and haphazard. There's no plan. They have a very successful bunch of television series - completely separate from the film series.
I consider myself a Bronze Age comic book fan. That and a Super Friends cartoon fan... :)
There cannot be a Power Girl movie or TV series, not in the current hypersensitive environment. Any attempt to be true to her look in the comics would provoke shrieks of outrage. But turning her into just another Strong Woman Who Hits Men will drive away audiences.
Are boobs really that needed; although those who are turned on by "flat-chested" women are probably a bit like pedophiles.
You should have Yoda from Star Wars, Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rafiki from The Lion King, and Master Shifu from Kung Fu Panda team up as The Master Council.
I would also like to see Casper the Friendly Ghost finally appear here.
@Sgt. Their first enemy needs to be none other than Darth Vader for rejecting him from the council!

They may not be able to make a Power Girl movies but that doesn't stop her on the WB, maybe not Supergirl, but the Flash has been dealing with the other Earths. As far as the costume goes well the "Boob" window went back and forth when Wood drew it in the mid 70's, so just bring back the white uniform without it. But she should be tall and have a hint more muscle than some of the other girls.
I have to agree that a Supergirl movie would be redundant right now. Besides a strong Supergirl TV series, the DCEU does have a good Superman in the mix, so Supergirl would work best there as a supporting character for him, in the same way that the Arrowverse's Earth-38 Superman is a supporting character for Supergirl.
I've been thinking for about a year and a half now that Power Girl would be fun to see on the Supergirl TV show, though, especially if they were to go with the "lost from another multiverse" angle. As for this Kara's figure, I'd just say that "change just one chromosome, and you have a difference of appearance even when it's still basically the same person." And for the decolletage, I like the explanation that Green Lantern Alan Scott once gave, that "you don't need a mask; nobody's going to be looking at your face."
Seriously, the big bust and cleavage window, which I normally would object to myself, have become such an integral part of the Power Girl character that I think it'd be a shame to leave them off her.
On a related note, I'd just been thinking about the Power Couple yesterday, though with focus on Luke. I just got cable and Netflix hooked up, so I'm catching up on all of the recent superhero TV programs, and I'm getting ready to watch Luke Cage right after I'm done with Season 1 of Jessica Jones.
On yet another topic, it's also occurred to me that there are pitifully few African-American superheroines on TV right now; I think Thunder, Black Lightning's elder daughter, is about it since Vixen left the Legends. Marvel, as far as I can tell, has nothing in its TV offerings (though in the movies Storm is a strong offering and Shuri kicks some major tooshie -- though both of them are actually African rather than African-American). I think it'd be great to feature a cover here of superheroines who could be good role models and cosplay subjects for young African-American women.
@Sgt The Master Council needs to add Ganthet from Green Lantern and The Ancient One from Dr Strange.
Another possibility for the Master Council: Albus Dumbledore.
OK, Ross, for Sgt. Snorkle above i propose the Ghost Patrol (or maybe Ghost Squad?)....
1. Casper the Friendly Ghost...
2. and Spooky the Tough Little Ghost
3. Timmy the Timid Ghost
4. The Gentleman Ghost
5. The Red Ghost and his super apes...
6. The Gay Ghost
7. The Space Ghost
8. The Black Ghost
9. Ghost, female hero from Dark Horse comics...
10. The Specter
11. Deadman
12. The Phantom, the Ghost who Walks...
13. Ghost Rider(cowboy version)
14. Ghost Rider(motorcycle version)
15. Homer the Happy Ghost
16. Slimer from Ghostbusters
...too name just a few from across time, space, and comic companies...
...oops...
i forgot the Sea Ghost from Nemo Publishing and Atlas Comics the Grim Ghost....
i think you could pull a team out of that list...
Hmmmmm! Did Arnim Zola make 40 clones of the Arabian Knight? Or did Per Degaton send the Power Couple back in time?
P.S.---how about Spidey meets Duck Twacy?
Or even Duck twacy vs. Darkwing Duck?*
*As a spoof of your own Batman meets Dick Tracy cover.
I am referring, of course, to STF #1939.
Good Lord! It looks like I've contracted BrotherBarnes-itis!!
Bob, you have the wrong wizard for the Master Council. You really want Shazam.
Jackel, who or what is the Black Ghost?
Kato (Now) Shang Chi (Marvel) & Richard Dragon (DC) Meet Bruce Lee (Darby Pop & others) IN "You're My Inspiration" - Chicago. And whatever other Kung-Fu Comics Heros Y'all want to throw in is Jim Dandy to me.
A Power Girl Show would be cool if they focused on her Atlantean Heritage and had her go to The Inner World Of Skartaris home of....... THE WARLORD (Action Figures Sold Separately). Is Mike Grell still alive he should write it.
Dear Ross: how about Shazam vs. Shazzan?
Sweet Christmas!
Next competition. What is the most ridiculous catch phrase used by a super hero? Great Scott! Could it be Sweet Christmas?
for Canterville above the Black Ghost was a fake comic book createf by Frank Brunner for the American Funky Winkerbean comic strip in Jan of 2016...
Shazam and Shazzan met back in #1178. I'd still be loving to see what would happen should Gomer Pyle say that magic word, though, as he often did on the TV show.
Skartaris was eventually located in a parralel dimension, not the hollow Earth.
Anonymous yes it was revealed in WARLORD, I have read them all including the waste of Ink that was the "reboot" more like a de-boot.
Worst catch phrase is also the best: "SPOON!" - The TiCk (New England Comics/NEC)
Thanks, Bob. :-)
"Aunt Jemima's Do-Rag!"
(from 'Buck Wild, Mercenary Man' who started [at Milestone] as a parody of Power Man; he also had "Sweet Easter!")
[Another African-American character in that comic commented on this: "I don't think that's slang, I think it's brain damage"...)
