The Doppel Gang

Many great heroes have a "dark reflection" type of villain, so this is a team that I have been meaning to assemble for a while. I can understand why it is such a common trope in comics and fiction in general.  What better way to portray how heroic your character is than by presenting a version with the same attributes used for nefarious rather than altruistic purposes?

Brilliant!

According to a certain line of thinking, Lex Luthor is the hero, and Superman is the menace or threat. Hence, Dawn of Justice...

I still think it was Lexcorp that invented the videogame "Injustice: Gods Among Us."

Faker??? Wow! That's really digging into the old Obscurity Vault. I don't Skeletor used him for more than that one Filmation episode.

A shame you couldn't fit the Valeyard in there somehow. :)

But that's a minor thing. On the whole, I have to say Well Done.

Now if you can just find a way to get this group actively fighting against one of your ad hoc hero groups, you'd have something truly outstanding. Preferably this would be a team not including any of these villains' counterparts.

I personally would have added Nemesis Prime, Prime-Evil (from Malibu Comics), and Thailog from Gargoyles.

What an excellent idea, and Faker! Man, talk about a blast from the past; I probably haven't thought about him since I was playing with those toys as a kid. Fantastic cover Ross.

I must have been living under a rock, but I don't remember Faker at all. I give myself points for realizing he must be a He-Man duplicate.

Rip Off

Rip Off? Wasn't he the evil clone of Rip Hunter? ;-)

Interesting! Nega-heroes as villains can be a lot of fun and you have some of my favorites here. I have to agree that Thailog would have been a great addition.

One of my favorite uses of this idea showed up in the Comico run of Jonny Quest when a time machine gone wrong caused the team to meet their evil universe counterparts. Jonny was a punk, Hadji a thug, Dr. Quest a mad scientist, and Race a Mad Max style thug complete with eyepatch and chainsaw-hand.

Now you need a team of the good mirror images of villains to fight this team.

The evil Optimus Prime clone Scourge (aka Black Convoy) from Transformers: Robots in Disguise/Car Robots would have worked out nicely with this team, too..

Cover of the month.

I feel like the Eddy Brock Venom wouldn't be willing to work with some of these people because he does have some heroic morals. Bizarro also has his own set of morals but they're kind of odd so he could join them because of the guidance of his odd morals or he could join them due to being manipulated by them. I feel like there are better choices for this team than Eddy Brock though.

Aw man if ya do a follow up there should definitely be either Owlman or ManBat on the team :)
