Legion of Super-Heroes and Guardians of the Galaxy in: "The Galactic Games!"

Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is ramping up, and bits of information are surfacing.  First was the addition of Mantis to the cast, and now there is word that Kurt Russell is being considered for the role of Star-Lord's as-yet unnamed father.  What I am really curious about though, is what songs James Gunn will select for inclusion in the sequel.  The music from the first film was one of my favorite parts and I hope he can come up with an equally impressive collection for the new film.

The Legion also crossed paths with a couple of Guardians back in STF #686...

How come this never happened? Seems there was a time in the 90s when both teams were decently popular and DC and Marvel were actually talking and this could have worked...

Where's that great LSH image from? Or is it a composite? I see it's got mostly 80s versions but with Tyroc and Ferro Lad too.

it makes me think of the amalgam comics issue which had New Warriors Legion of Superheroes and guardians of the galaxy. they even had bouncing boy combine with speedball hilarious.

Kid, I thinks it's from a Byrne DCCP if memory serves.

Have you ever created an all jetpack cover? Featuring The Rocketeer Buck Rogers Rocket Raccoon Adam Strange. in the 90s I remember a jazz group called the jetpack society it sounded like martinis jazz. sounds like a real cool name is to use.

The true Guardians of the Galaxy, at last? I love it!

If this were made into a film, though, I can't help wondering if Donald Sutherland would play the President of the United Planets. ;-)

Is it just my computer, or are the colors of the Legionnaires a bit off, like maybe some of the green is weak or absent?

Also, speaking of Amalgam, I'd like to see the Legion of Galactic Guardians fight any of the following:

(1) The time-warping mastermind Kang, the Time Trapper (one guy).

(2) The dreaded wizard Dormadru.

(3) The cosmic menace Galactus, the Sun-Eater (again, one entity).

This looks like Byrne. He's up there with Perez as the master of the detailed crowd scene.

Speaking of Amalgam, I'd like to see Spider-Boy team up with [a pre-1990s version of] Spiderman and a pre-'cloning blues' version of Superboy...

Sorry guys - I have very few rules that I give myself when creating covers, but one is to not make a crossover out of another crossover. That rules out use of the Amalgam characters. Plus since most only appeared once or twice, there isn't a lot of usable images out there anyway.

Actually, I meant I'd like to see DC & Marvel do one of those if they ever make Amalgam comics again.

This morning, seeing the Silver Age Superboy (and I know it's that one because Colossal Boy is wearing is greatest-ever costume) made me think, for reasons I'm still trying to figure out, of the Death of Superman. Specifically: What if the Death of Superman, Knightfall, and the loss of Wonder Woman's powers had all happened at the same time?

Who knows? Uatu will tell.

(Or not. Probably not. But it's a thought.)

I didn't already know about the former limitation, although I can understand you choosing to apply it, but realised that the latter factor would probably rule out you using the characters anyway.Like Kid Charlemagne, I was really thinking more about my hopes for future collaboration between DC and Marvel themselves...

[wistful]'Spider-Boy'; 'Super-Soldier'; 'Bruce Wayne, Agent of SHIELD'; 'Challengers of the Fantastic'; whatever the Diana Prince/Punisher team-up was called; 'Magneto and the Magnetic Men'; and some of their other concepts, too...[/wistful]
So MUCH untapped potential for delightful stories.
