Amanda Waller and The Hulk

DC's New 52 reboot made a lot of changes to their long standing characters. One of the more puzzling decisions to me was to transform Amanda Waller into a hard-bodied action hero with supermodel good looks.  Was anyone complaining that Waller didn't fit the standard comic heroine mold?  I thought her appearance, along with her personalitry and position of power in the DCU were what made her a unique and interesting character.  That version worked well on Justice League Unlimited, after all.  I think that changing her physique just makes her a little more generic.

I was hoping to see her put on weight as the series progressed

Probably trying to remake her into Angela Bassett's image, in case the actress returns to her Green Lantern role in future DC movies.

John Byrne FTW.

They ruined Amanda Waller, and imo, the new 52 sucks. Nice pic though, I could totally see Waller staring down the Hulk.

It's such a shame that they've sacrificed so much diversity.

While I never cared for Alan Moore crippling Barbara Gordon; Barry Allen dying in the Crisis; or, Hal Jordan becoming a villain and then dying, to undo all of that...meh.

But is a thinner Amanda Waller less of a cliched stereotype then a heavier Amanda Waller? What body type image is DC trying to promote?

Angela Basset wasn't the only thin Amanda Waller. There was an actress on Smallville that played the character thin.

@ AirDave - You mean Pam Grier, she ain't exactly thin you know. But I figure that DC wants an Amanda Waller that can get in on the action.Never thought I'd live to see the day when I missed the Post-Crisis DC.

Personally I think this cover works better as marriage argument than a recruitment of the Hulk for Suicide Squad.
