The Tick Vs. Ambush Bug
These guys seem like they were made to appear together. Aside from the similarity in appearance, the stories that they star in are always chock full of commentary and humor regarding the state of the comics industry. I can imagine that any tale that featured them side by side would just be a ton of fun. Heck, call in Patrick Warburton and Henry Winkler to reprise the voices and animate the story! Now that would be a blast!

Ha! SPOON!
I love these team-ups! Ambush Bug and The Tick are naturals. Ambush Bug seems like a friendly, harmless version of Deadpool. A Deadpool without all the blood...
One of the things that got my attention and hooked me was a back-up feature in The Tick that Edlund had done. A darker, more ominous version of Yogi's Ark. If you've read it, it's pretty cool. If you haven't read it - find it, read it, hope you enjoy it.
These two would be quite a combo. It would probably be one of those things that could only happen once, since anything that came afterward would fail to capture the magic of the first!
I could certainly see Ambush Bug breaking the Fourth Wall and addressing the reader, and the Tick wondering, "Who are you talking to?"
Oh, and Patrick Warburton only played the Tick in the live version of the show. The animated version was voiced by Townsend Coleman. (For an animated team-up, though, I'd probably favor Patrick.)
When I picked up the first issue of the Ambush Bug miniseries back in the early '80s, I was still in grade school, and was completely unprepared and caught off guard by the humor and zany non-sequitor style of Keith Giffen. And the breaking the fourth wall, in the context of the DC Universe, that reminded of Monty Python and early SNL. I showed me that anything was possible when writing for comics.
PS: Kool-Aid, not Kool-Ade. :)
I showed my daughters both the animated and live action versions of The Tick. After the initial rolling of the eyes they both fell in love with the character. There are frequent cries of SPOON and "My Moustache is touching my brain" through the house.
I love Ambush Bug in the finale of Batman the Brave and the Bold.
Friggin' genius, Ross! The icing on the cake was the Kool-Aid reference. Well played, sir!
I've been going crazy trying to find which issue that Yogi's Gang story is in and if I can read it online. Any idea which issue, airdave?
