When you count all of the Lost B&B and Lost MTIO covers, this marks my 1,000th cover on the blog. Yikes, when I began fiddling with paint a few years ago to make a Batman and Martian Manhunter team-up, in never expected it to snowball into this! Well, hopefully I haven't worn out my welcome, because I still have some lost adventures that I want to share...
I have been meaning to do a golden-age meeting of the Captains for a while and I am glad that I finally got to it. On the surface, these characters may not have a ton in common, but I think that Captain America would appreciate the earnestness of Billy Batson and they could make for an effective fighting pair. Plus, who wouldn't want to see the Big Red Cheese lay the smack down on The Red Skull, or Cap knock his shield upside Sivana's bulbous head?

Wow! 1,000 covers! That is awesome! As much as I've enjoyed The Batman and The Thing team-ups, these new team-ups are even more fun!
What I came away with from Captain America: The First Avenger, was a sense that Steve Rogers was like Billy Batson. A kid at heart, with manners and a sense of what's right and wrong. The Nazis were just billies that needed to be stopped; just like any bully.
It's a shame that modern comics have lost that moral ethical code in favor of might makes right. A violent hero isn't interesting to me to read. I'm not a big fan of the new direction for Captain Marvel. DC can call him what they want. I'll keep spending my money on Batman '66.

This cover looks like Captain America is protecting Sivana with his shield. I'm guessing that Sivana got in over his head and is actually welcoming his capture by the two Captains; what they'd do to him is much better than what the Nazis surely have in store.
Of course, unlike Sivana in my scenario, you've far from worn out your welcome. Congratulations on 1000 covers, and here's to 10,000 more.
PS: In working on the Doctor Who fan film "Doctor Who 2.0 Origins" (link on my name), I've found that when I mention the mutants that our Doctor meets on an alien planet people tend to think of the X-Men, or else the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Our mutants are more like those in Beneath the Planet of the Apes or Defiance (with a little Toxic Avenger), but while researching the matter it's occurred to me that an X-Men/TMNT team-up would be appropriate.
