Hawkman and The Sub-Mariner
Hawkman is an impressive looking character in the comics, but is quite tough to pull of in live action. No matter how well built the performer may be, their arms and chest still tend to appear scrawny when wearing the large helmet and wings. I am sure some costume designer will crack that issue one of these days, but so far I have yet to see a convincing live-action Hawkman. Namor also needs someone with a perfect physique to play him as well - you have to appear imposing while wearing just a speedo and ankle wings, and that's no small feat. It will be interesting to see which of these bare-chested badasses shows up on the big screen first.

For me, the interesting thing about this team-up is the contrast of the physical media in which they thrive: one is a master of the air, while the other is a master of the sea.
Acutally, the actor who portrayed Hawkman in the live action Super Heroes special from the 1970s had a fairly impressive physique. Too bad he wasn't given much to do.
Dave sez,
Cool cover...and theme! Shirtless in the air and under the sea!
The Hawkman from Smallville was pretty well built, wasn't he? Hopefully the character can be revived for a cameo on Arrow...
I think casting Namor will be harder. It's gotta be somebody near a WWE physique, maybe built like The Rock. The big deal is that the comics have always presented the theory that Namor and Arthur were tough because of the pressure of the sea itself.
Patrick Duffy was kinda cheesy as The Man From Atlantis...
Then, again, so was Michael Landon as a teenage werewolf. But, all great actors have to start someplace!
