Indiana Jones and Captain America

We'll, I am off to see The Avengers in a few hours and from what I have read, it will not disappoint.  It will be great to see the characters interacting with one another, but the one story line I am really looking forward to seeing continued is Captain America's.  His film left off on such a cliffhanger moment, I really wanted to see how they handled Cap's transition into modern life. It'll be fun to see the follow through on that.

This pairing doesn't seem that crazy to me.  In fact, The Red Skull referred to Raiders of the Lost Arc in Captain America when he mentioned something about "the fuhrer digging for trinkets in the desert" - I loved that moment.

Normally I don't critique someone else's reality, but wouldn't it have made more sense for Indy to have met Cap before he was frozen, in the 1940s, rather than in the 1960s?

Not when Kang has teamed with Belloq to alter the timeline!

FYI, I just got back from The Avengers movie...believe me, you will NOT be disappointed. Best part:(non-spoiler) although I've seen every movie leading up to it, even if you'd seen one of the character's previous movies, this would seem like a direct sequel, no matter which of the those movies you'd seen. And the plot lines all meshed in brilliantly.

Dave sez,

Wasn't Indiana Jones one of the Invaders? Or, wait he was in All-Star Squadron with the JSA!

I would have hoped to see a different Harrison Ford character: namely, Han Solo. It would have been perfect in noting that the Avengers movie came out on International Star Wars Appreciation Day (May the Fourth be With You).

I have a couple of Han covers coming up.

Can we have the Atari Force return to team-up with, I don't know, Jack of Hearts or some space based team?

Atari Force is tough in that there aren't a whole lot of images to work from. I do love that JLGL artwork though, so anything's possible

At the time Indy came out, Cap (as Steve Rogers) was whining to his date that it was too violent. Really.

Here's hoping one of those Han Solo covers has him and Indy together. What a pair that would make!

But I was thinking of a Star Wars cover to commemorate the day. Maybe something can be done for next year, depending on what develops.
