Time for a double dose of these heroes!
The Flash and Iron Man have shared adventures on the blog before - They were last seen together in STF #2962, they faced a moving violation in STF #2546, and had a two-part tale that began in STF #1164 and concluded with their future counterparts in STF #1165...

For a second, I thought you were pairing the Golden Age Flash with Hugh Hazard's Bozo the Iron Man (which might've been more fitting). But, as this is Tony Stark's protoypical armor (first forged to escape from Wong Chu), I will guess that the team-up with Jay Garrick precedes the fateful thunderstorm during which Barry Allen got electrochemically doused.*
*Which, when I was in college, would've been topically set in the late Fifties/early Sixties.
Hmm; does this make the gunmetal gray version the Earth-Two Iron Man?
Nice work and good idea; Ross.
This is a cool twist on the "Flash of Two Worlds" cover.
Y'know, some time it might be fun to do a similar two-parter (re: #1164-65) with the Western and modern versions of Ghost Rider and Johnny Thunder.
A similar thing would be teaming up Jonah Hex first with the original Ghost Rider, then Hex' future adventure with Ghost Rider 2099.
Very clever idea.
Oooh. I have both of the comics that cover came from. Although, borrowing the Flashes from 80 Page Giant #9 might have made this slightly easier. Wonderful job, Ross.
Excellent cover Ross! Belated Happy New Year. Beautiful combination here with these classic heroes having their history displayed back through time.
Since we're almost through the first week of 2024 already, I can only imagine how many requests you must have received over the years starting with "Have you ever paired 'X' with so and so?". Since you have Iron Man on this cover, this is my chance to ask if you've ever had the Golden Avenger take on Darth Vader? Both men wear special armor, and have relied on some sort of life support system at one time or another, so thought they'd have something in common.
I haven't done a good thorough search for a Shellhead/Sith Lord showdown on your blog, so I thought I could make my appeal here.
Brilliant, just Brilliant… very clever… love it …
i felt like a kid again, seeing this version of Two Worlds. Scientists Barry and Tony working together and Jay adding to it. Great new year beginnings.
And it would be a great introduction of new characters if Toni Stark (love interest of Golden Age time traveler Ace Buckley) could get to meet Hugh Hazard and his robotic buddy Bozo.
