Wonder Woman Vs. The Phoenix

I'm hoping we will get to see some footage from Wonder Woman 1984 soon.  I look forward to the Patty Jenkins sequel, but I still have a lot of questions.  How will Kristin Wiig portray the Cheetah, and more importantly, what will she look like in cat form? How is Steve Trevor alive and well in the 80's?   And will the film alter the DCEU timeline at all, as rumored, paving the way for a new direction and actors going forward?

Well, as I recall the usual back story, Steve's body was thrown clear of the exploding plane. Landing in the Arctic Ocean where it flash-froze and...oh, wait! That's the other guy.

Seriously, though: Diana seems a tad over-matched here. Overpowering a cosmic entity that burnt an entire Marvel alterniverse to ashes? Doesn't seem possible. Even for Wonder Woman!

All these wacky, wily questions and more will be answered. Same wonder channel. Same wonder time.

Forgive him, Wm. Self. He knows not what he says.

I don't know, Cary. Wonder Woman's magic lasso is pretty powerful. And there may be a deeper connection: Diana's opponent's costume has an emblem
very close to her own.

Hopefully the WW sequel will bury everything the DC movie universe has puked onto the screen so far. The first WW was the only decent movie they made.

BvS:DOJ was their 2nd most decent.

My latest information is that Wonder Woman 1984 has been delayed to come out after The Flash: Flashpoint. The latter will be used to rewrite the DCEU, mainly eliminating things that have proven unpopular with fans or otherwise unworkable (Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman being one vulnerable item). Still, Aquaman and Shazam will be ahead of either of them, so who knows what can happen?

What the delay means for WW84 is that it'll probably be quite a while before we start to see any footage from that movie.

As for this match-up, Cary has a point, but one important mark of a true hero is persevering against impossible odds. Wonder Woman would indeed be way outclassed in an all-out one-on-one knockdown-dragout fight against Phoenix, but she does have other, more indirect resources -- in some versions, that resourcefulness is one of her defining traits. She could very well find some ally (more likely a fellow Amazon or some similar friend than a Justice League colleague) to help keep Phoenix at bay long enough to figure out how to talk her down or find some other solution.

Maybe Wonder Woman and She-Ra.

@Anonymous #2: sorry, dude! Bob Greenwade makes the more valid counterpoint.

H'mm, is Phoenix's energy 'solar' enough in nature to "supercharge" -- or maybe even to overload -- Superman?

Maybe Boston Brand could overshadow the Parasite and steal away some of that ionic energy that way.
