Green Hornet and Green Lantern (Part One)

I am happy to see that a lot of JSA members are being cast for DC Streaming Service's upcoming Stargirl series.  I hope they will be major players in the show and not just bit parts in flashbacks.  No word on whether Alan Scott will be on the roster yet - but I am hoping that he will finally make his live action debut.

This is only the first part of the story. Make sure you stop by tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion!

Oh, I'll be here for part two. Because, I am literally not built to be square. ;-)

Btw: were these two ever featured as part of your Emerald Elite team? Or am I thinking of some other unlikely duo.

You might be confusing STF #594 with STF #1433 (Green Lama and Golden Age GL).

I wish someone would do a new WWII-era JSA book. Or even just after the war, up to the HUAC hearings.

I've often wondered why Martin Nodell gave his Green Lantern a bright red shirt.

I've always wanted to see a JSA Year One series picking up right after their origin showing how those different characters deal with becoming a team. I would prefer more stateside action with supervillains and mobster and less Nazi and WWII stuff.

Poochy: If my memory isn't totally bonkers, somebody did try to do that in a miniseries or "event" set of books. I remember it because it there was a dinner party thrown by the "society / professional" class members(Sandman, Starman, Dr. MidNite, GL) where the "adventurer / working" class members (Hawkman, Flash, Wildcat, Atom) felt way out of place (and Fate and Spectre didn't show at all). Each group left wondering if they would be able to trust / work with the other group.

Unfortunately, I can't find any references to just which of the dozens of JSA runs it was at the moment.

I'd have placed Hawkman among the society/professional class members, myself: He seemed to be independently wealthy, anyway...

@ Jay Johnson - This sounds like a post crisis run. It could be James Robinson's The Golden Age mini.

Simreeve: Not sure if Carter Hall had money or earned it from his archeological digs. And he's in the group with the others because he likes to get his hands dirty and his first impulse to deal with a problem is to hit it.

Isaac: Definitely was post-crisis (Dr. MidNite on the team from the beginning) but not The Golden Age, which was about the last gasp of the Golden Age and the start of the Silver Age, ie Captain Comet). And this one took place when the JSA really didn't know one another. I want to say it was that weird event where they used the old Golden Age book titles (National, Star-Spangled, etc.), but I can't be sure.

It was a short story called "Scenes from the Class Struggle in the Justice Society" IIRC. The swells are at one table and the working stiffs at the other. It was in a book with several smaller JSA stories ... maybe the one where they intro'ed the new JSA?

As I recall, Dr. Mid-Nite says you should always hire a servant who's afraid of being found out as less elegant than he seems -- they work the hardest and you don't have to watch them. Whew!

@ Steve Johnson - Thanks for the info Steve, I was about to say Jay might've been thinking of that Martian Manhunter mini that featured Dr. Midnight.

@Steve: Thanks. I knew it had "Class Struggle" somewhere in the title. Sounds like one of the multi-story issues of "JSA: Classified".

I believe old Alan was seen in the 2 part Smallville with the flashback to the JSA being treated like crap by the Govt back then.

@Bob B: And we have a winner! Hard to believe the JSA appeared in so many places but couldn't make a dent in New 52 or Rebirth.
