The 1980's NEW DOOM PATROL (Robotman, Celsius, Tempest & Negative Woman) were so awesome to me when they appeared in DC Comics Presents. That was the 1st i heard of them. I wanted more but it would be years b4 they got thier own book. DC's version of the X-Men meets the Fantastic Four!

2. The mini-series where they introduced Aquaman's blue suit was the only time I ever liked that character.
3. Ditto on Aqualad's transition to Tempest, especially the outfit. There was a picture on the internet I wish I'd saved, because I can't find it anymore, of the original Teen Titans, grown up, in their more recent incarnations, though I think whoever did it was wise enough to keep Wonder Girl in a version of a WG costume, and not that Troia nonsense. It looked great, and if DC ever wanted to give them the X-Factor treatment and get the original band back together in their current form, that's one of the few comics I'd actually pay money for these days.

Was the blue suit period before or after he got the trident hand (a la Capt. Hook)?

The blue suit was used in the Aquaman mini-series set shortly after he left Justice League Detroit.
Excellent idea, Marc; and outstanding cover, Ross. I think that this would be an interesting story, too: probably light on combat, but heavy on non-combat use of superpowers, which is something I see too little of in superhero stories these days.
Since we all know Hell will freeze over before Marvel and DC ever do another crossover it's great to have this blog at the ready for a regular fix.

For some reason the suggestion given Mike and his anonymous responder made me think of something completely unrelated: Captain Picard and Edna Mode in "Make It Sew!"

'I'd expect 'Gale Force' to be a team of highly-trained but non-superpowered agents (something like the 'THUNDER Squad', perhaps -- and there is an obvious team-up for them!) led by John Steed's former associate Cathy Gale...
@Simreeve: Let's not forget Agent John Force. A Silver Age hybrid of John Constantine and Nick Fury (from ACG Comics, iirc).
