Superman and The Micronauts
The Micronauts was a comic based on a toy, and I enjoyed both as a kid. The comic had great artwork and Marvel guest stars and the toys were some of the coolest of my youth. I wonder why there was never an animated series featuring the characters - I can only imagine comic and toy sales would have been even better had there been one.

Huh!? That is kinda surprising. One would think that a toy line and a comic book would fast track a cartoon tie-in; a 22-minute Micronauts "infomercial".
Is this a Toyman trap - or a bizarre Brainiac-Kandor caper?
I love Tele-Tran One in the background! Kind of seems apt given the cartoon conversation. I also like the animated look of Superman like he's ripped right from the Ruby Spears animated series.
Fantastic artwork, Ross! The anger on Superman's face makes me think he's been brainwashed by Baron Karza.
Considering it's the Microverse, it's more likely Superman is being influenced by the Psycho-Man!

I recognize the Superman pose. Great choice.
Back in the 90's there was a plan to release an animated movie based on the Marvel version of the Micronauts. It never came about and there was no reason given as to why it never happened. In the early 2000's at Toyfair 4 prototypes were shown of Arcturus Rann , Acroyear, Bug and Huntarr but never made. Google it and you can see the figures...they were great designs but again no further reason why it was stopped.
I would have figured that the micronauts would be in kandor.
@ both Anonymice: Given that Karza is just a disembodied mind occupying high-tech battle armor, he could just as easily take over Psycho-Man's corporeal body and brainwash Superman that way!
Now you will must do a second part, with the Micronauts in Kandor.
Hey! I just noticed something. The issue number is the same as the year Superman debuted in ACTION COMICS v.1/#1!
