Katana and Valkyrie
I was hoping to see Tessa Thompson in the classic blue/black outfit with the breastplates during her turn as Valkyrie in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. Alas, judging by the trailer, they kept the blue cape but not much else. I was pleasantly surprised to see that she will eventually make a change into a costume that very closely resembles her white and gold outfit that she wore for a time in The Defenders, so that will be pretty cool.

I wonder if she is some sort of Fallen or exiled Valkyrie in the film.
Valkyrie without breastplate costume makes complete sense because they are adding her to attract female viewers. Some costumes are so impractical they are not going to shown in big budget films unless they are just shown for short period of time.
I do dislike film makers need to change everything however. There is a reason why comics gained a following.
Not all changes are bad, actually.
I always likes Valkyrie in her long stint in the Defenders, but even as a kid thought that armoring her boobs and nothing else was kind of dumb.
They may also have felt her black outfit would've made her look too similar to Thor onscreen. The white/blue look helps her very clearly stand out on screen plus making her a neat visual opposite to Thor, who's in darks and reds and grubby metal.
Then again they also have Hulk and Loki, two green guys, in prominent roles.
YES! Thank you, Ross, for granting my wish (made back in STF #1918).
P.S. @Mateus---that doesn't automatically make them good, however.
Yes they make changes but only one direction. I loved Idris Elba as Heimdall but would they DARE to make one of Black Panther's crew Irish as an example? No.
But, now that you've given them the general idea, they might decide to revive T'challa's Russian foster brother...the White Wolf.
Well ya know Glenn there's a reason for that, we need more diversity in comics not less. For far too long it's been nothing but white men.
Hence, Idris Elba as the new Gunslinger Roland?
