Green Lantern and Iron Man

I think these two characters go well together, and the pairing became even more appealing to me when I realized I could use Gil Kane images for both of them.  I was also glad to fit in cameos by Mogo and Ego... sentient planets are just too cool, and I've always enjoyed stories featuring either of them.  If the Green Lantern movie actually gets a sequel (c'mon, Clash of the Titans got one!), I'd love to see Mogo get an onscreen appearance.  I definitely got a kick out of the animated Mogo Doesn't Socialize segment from the recent Green Lantern: Emerald Knights DVD.

Great Gil Kane images. Do we know the inker on this one? Iron Man looks like a Gene Colan drawing to me. Smashing, Ross! Another great cover!

Dave sez,

Awesome! I've been waiting for this cover!!!

I would still like to see a Green Lantern-Iron Man-Daredevil team-up.

The Amalgam Comics Iron Lantern a few years back was such a cool mash-up.

The only thing that disappointed me about the Green Lantern movie was that it tried to do so much at the same time. There was an animated movie a few years ago that told the origin. Tell it in flashback or quickly, then move on. Hopefully a sequel will try to be more epic in smaller ways - less is more!

Well, I've got two reminders here after seeing the cover:

1. The obvious one, Amalgam's Iron Lantern.
2. Bill Sandefur's Marvel Legends vs DC Universe Classics fan photo comic--in part of the story, Iron Man does fight Hal Jordan. You should read it, it's what the proposed 1983 JLA/Avengers crossover could've been.

HA-HA! I knew it! I had to double check, but I should have trusted my instincts! You used the image of Iron Man from when he (actually an impostor) was killed by Doctor Spectrum-- Marvel's version of Green Lantern! Too cool!

It's tough getting two big guys like that in the same picture unless it's from a distance!
