I am very curious to see how the upcoming John Carter film does at the box office. The trailers seem cool enough, but I haven't heard much buzz about this movie, so I don't know how much interest there is. Then again, with popular shows like Spartacus and Game of Thrones currently airing, maybe audiences are ready for a big screen sword-and-sandals type epic. I am not as familiar with John Carter as I am with Tarzan so I don't expect to be put off by minor changes in characters or story if there are any. I would like a better look at the Tharks - it seems like the design is right, but they move so quickly in the trailers I've seen that it is hard to judge the CGI.

Given that Disney owns the Burroughs licenses now I'm just grateful it's not a musical. Or that his parents die. Or that he has a wise-cracking comic relief talking animal sidekick.
Tor Publishing had the entire series in paperback with beautiful covers by Frank Frazetta in the 1980s. But a few John Carters, but I became more intrigued with Burroughs' Carson Napier character from his Carson of Venus series (Pirates of Venus is my favorite!)
I have found memories on returning to Walden Books or B.Daltons every saturday to collect all of them.
That was quick!
Korak/Komandi?
Ross's work melds well with Mr. Jusko's....nice piece. I'd buy it.
......waiting for the return of THE THING!!!
Wouldn't john carter team up with anything Burrough be more likely.
@NINE9INCHE STUD:
Dark Horse already did that with TARZAN & JOHN CARTER VS. PREDATORS.
@pblfsda:
Disney proved they could do serious, non-musical animated features with SEARCH FOR ATLANTIS. Of course, in that one, the protagonist had already lost his archeologist grandfather!
