Batman and Iceman (Retro)

There's something about the original team of X-Men that just works.  I think it's that they each had a simple easily definable power.  I did have one question when it came to Iceman, though.  I loved the visual of him zipping around on his ice slides but I always wondered what happened when those things began to melt.  Did they just start falling apart and come crashing to the ground?  I imagine that would cause a lot of collateral damage!  Perhaps they changed to the consistency of snow before breaking apart, that would avoid most of the problems, I guess.

Spidey and His Amazing Friends (animated series, NBC, 1981-92)did much to define Iceman (and Firestar) to those of us unfamiliar with X-Men. Any thoughts on how they were portrayed in the cartoon vs. the books? Also, I second the suggestion for Batman & Neo and Triniy and Morpheus from the Matrix.

Dave sez,

Very cool cover!
Please tell me that The Boy Wonder is at the controls, and the Batplane is not on autopilot, and that Batman has to deal with an angsty Bobby Drake from experience with an angsty Flying Grayson...

But...that's just me...
