Iron Man and Lex Luthor met in a Bronze Age inspired cover in STF #1004, and I thought I would present a Silver Age confrontation between the two. Their armor may have been a bit clunkier in those days, but the battle would still have been epic!

Silver Age Lex was a lot flabbier than the modern sleeker version. Now his secret is out - his warsuit slimmed him down as well as powering him up!
Maybe Tony Stark - after he'd trounced him - used Lex's tech to turn his old clunky suit in the red-and-gold version.
"Clunkier"?! For the first two seconds, I thought I was looking at Metallo rather than Luthor! But, then again, this particular suit of exo-skeletal armor might have been designed and built before he hit it big in California real estate.
A "Stark" possibility.
I would like to see a semi-modern follow up. Set between Iron Man 200 and 201. Lex Luthor takes over Stane International after Stane's suicide and in his Krypton battle suit takes on the Silver Centurion Iron Man.
I know you've pitted Lex Luthor against Doctor Doom before, but the two are so alike in so many ways I feel they would be bitter rivals if they lived in the same universe and badly need a rematch.
Love the title!
Great Silver Age matchup Ross! Covers where Iron Man had to go up against an evil copy-cat always got my attention, (and my money.) With all the injuries in professional football, and other contact sports, I wondered years later if Tony Stark had developed some internal dampening field like the Enterprise to survive all the brutal impacts his armor endured.
Old Lex looked so Big before the fight...often did. No matter how smart he was, he never seemed to double check and think outside his box. Tony always did have potentials. Loved this "simple " cover.
