Betty and The Beast

It looks like Archie Andrews has met his match. Maybe a well-timed Sentinel attack will distract the competition.

As I recall, it was determined that feminine fascination for Hirsute Hank McCoy was due to his unconscious emission of pheromones similar to those that allow the Mandrill to mind-control his hench women. So, if anyone could help Archie nullify that unfair advantage, it would be Dilton Doiley.

Unless, of course, a Sentinel attack on Riverdale led to Betty transforming into Super Teen (thereby breaking that biochemical hold).

As Betty is technically still a minor, all Archie has to do is report The Beast to the local authorities. Either that or go all Pureheart on his hairy butt.

If so, it would probably be at the seductive bidding of Ms. Vanity (Veronica Lodge's super-villainous alter-ego).

It looks like just about all the women in Riverdale would succumb to the charms of the ever eloquent, loquacious, bashful Beast. Heaven help Dr. Hank McCoy if Big Ethel comes in. Wonder what his real purpose is? The Beast still could have a serious meeting with Archie comics' resident genius, Dilton Doily?

The legal status, Jason, depends on what state Riverdale is in; in some states, 16 or 17 is legal -- and that's assuming the relationship is going to "that level."

I'd suspect, though, that this situation is only a secondary plot, at least from Hank's point of view. A visit to Dilton is probably his main purpose for visiting, and this is a sidetrack.

But this does sort of make sense, given that the Punisher has had a real-comics crossover. On the other hand, if we were to drop Ambush Bug into Riverdale....

Riverdale is in New York State, if I'm not mistaken.

And there's one episode of THE SIMPSONS that sort of establishes that their hometown of Springfield is within driving distance of Riverdale.

@Daviticus: it's a section of The Bronx, I believe.

Well, if Riverdale is in the state of New York, then the legal age there is 17 (unless something's changed since last time I watched Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).

I didn’t have a comedy comic featuring Beast on my dance card, but that’s part of what makes this site great. Got a good laugh from this! A nice break from a busy workday.

On the other hand, Ross; did you transpose today's cover with yesterday's? Because, usually, you have some big group of super-villains every 40 issues! Which makes me wonder if the Circus of Crime were initially intended for this morning.

Who’s to say if Beast has a Platonic relationship with Betty?

Hank could be there for Dilton or Jughead (as Riverdale would suggest) or something involving supplies from someone's company. It would be interesting to see Hank like this with Wonder Woman. Would it make a difference to her?

Is Hank the real McCoy?

I prefer this look for the Beast. I’m referring to his look in the Avengers and the Defenders. When Marvel began modifying his look in the X-Men, its like the fun enjoyable Beast was neutered. Hank McCoy seemed to loose more and more of his charisma the more he evolved.
