That's right - Mr. Universe is back! We haven't seen the last of him either! I have big plans for this new STF original recurring villain. You can expect to see him up against all sorts of heroes in future covers.

With a name like Mr Universe, I expect him to have a connection to Marvel's Captain Universe.
the Power of Mighty Mouse ( and really painful singing ) the might of Luke Cage ( and as is known one of the worst singing voices in Marvel comics)
one can only hope that Mr. Universe is tone Deaf… or be ready to Suffer…
Yep, the emotional spectrum rolls on. Sinestro might judge the yellowish colors on their costumes don't mesh quite as well as they might. But IMO they'll do for Fear.
So that's the reds - Deadman/Daredevil - for Rage.
Not quite sure if Hawkeye & Huntress are Violet (Love) or Indigo (Compassion). Maybe standing in for both?
I'm still holding out for Hulk plus one for Green tomorrow....
Looks more like Abyss from DC's "DIAL H" series from 2012. On the other hand, that's interesting art work that was done for Luke Cage. Sort of like Calvin & Hobbs meet Maxx. Is that Genndy T. or Ralph B?
As Luke, himself, might put it (back in the Swinging Seventies): "What's wrong with basic black, brother? Black is beautiful!"
Isn't Mister Universe a boy builder title?
Lol! No, it's a BODY-builder title.
@Ross: feel free to disregard my earlier question. I finally ascertained that it's Mr. Tartakovsky.
I had a thought similar to Shamus's. This villain looks like a good excuse to give the powers of Captain Universe to Superman.
Or to have Captain Klutz team up with the Inferior Five.
Mr. Universe has only been on one other cover, so I ask WHO is Mr. Universe?
Perhaps Captain Universe and Steven Universe can fight Mr Universe at the behest of the Guardians of the Universe.
Alternatively, back in the day, there were plans for Quasar and Mighty Mouse to team up but it fell through because Marvel lost the MM license before it could happen... so Mark Gruenwald ressurected the New Universe instead.
Still, I'd love to see a MM/Quasar cover here someday.
As the creator of the Abyss, I appreciate the plug. The skeletal hand reminds me more of Dr. Phosphorus, but the coloring is different.
Here he comes to save the Play./' Mr Universe does it all come what may!!
I wonder the heck, too.
I hope 1 character he meets is Captain Comet (who had a green garbed female appear on one of his old 50s cover as "Miss Universe"). Maybe there is a connection to that character somewhere down the line. Capt. Comet needs more STF coves like maybe taking on more Marvel super villain teams ala the SSSV. Since he's a psychic mutant, I'd thought you'd at least run him thru all the X-titles as a Prof. X substitute leader by now.
I'm guessing the Earth 3 version of Marvel's Eternity.
