This was pairing comes as the result of a suggestion by comics' historian and Patron of this Blog, Marc Tyler Nobleman. It was an offbeat combo for sure, but it immediately suggested a story idea to me so I had to give it a shot. Thanks, Marc!

This is brilliant!
Genius!
How about a Space Ghost / Quasar team-up??
@Ross: What Rabbi Joe said. :-)
@Anon740: What Alaric said. :-)
P.S.---now for my own offbeat suggestion.* The Yellow Kid meets Mr. Rogers and Zippy the Clown!
"Can you say, 'Are we having fun, yet?'?"
*Probably my weirdest one to date.
I'll echo the "brilliant", "genius" and raise you an "utterly inspired."
I suspect that, in the original cover, Hal was coming in for an attack, but here he looks like he's taking an alarmed leap backward. And the legend on the front of the Kid's shirt* is classic.
And here I was just contemplating yesterday about how Man-Thing should have a Yellow Lantern ring.
Along an entirely different line, I'm not suddenly having visions of Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) going all fangirl over Wonder Woman, Superman, or (DC's) Captain Marvel.
*I think it's a shirt. I'm not familiar enough with the character.
The Yellow kid, Alfred E Neuman, Forbush man meet Groo the Wander
Well now you've got to do a pairing with Sin City's Yellow Bastard.
THIS ONE is absolute genius, Ross! Now for A couple of suggestions (both of which I've made before):
Lex Luthor vs Deathlok in "WHEN LUTHER NET LUTHOR!"
and...
Detective Chimp vs. Hit-Monkey! It'd be more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
(Grabs a cookie on the way out)
Sorry, the above should have read "WHEN LUTHER MET LUTHOR"
What a hoot! I think this is one of the best ever.
As for suggestions, I'd like to offer:
Have you ever teamed up the Potheads:
1) The Original Red Tornado (Ma Hunkel) (image by Kerry Callen, my commission)
2) Forbush Man
3) Fat Man (see also: Tex Thompson)
4) Johnny Appleseed
5) Bizarro Dr. Fate
They’d probably bust drug dealers. :)
Or the Longjohn Brigade?
1) The Original Red Tornado (Ma Hunkel)
2) Forbush Man
3) Fat Man
4) Supersnipe
5) Herbie the Fat Fury
6) ‘Mazing Man
Clearly designed to fight in the winter.
Alex - See The Union Suit Squad...
An I do have a Pot-head cover in the pipeline.
as either the first or second comic book character ( ally sloper both appeared around the same time ) it’s only right that the Yellow Kid would be the progenitor of the Little blue boys…
Still, Captain Klutz needs to join the Union Suit Squad.
Or Capt. Underpants meets Diaper Man of the Mighty Heroes.
Or, even better? Alloy--a giant fusion of all six Metal Men--going up against the 1970's Hulk (discourtesy of the Metal Master)!
Ah, but on his back is a "This SPACE for rent" sign.
Yellow kid is making a comeback since his recent appearance with The Bat-Man.
@Tobor: either that, or "Kick Me."
@Ross: any chance of a sequel wherein TYK gets to meet Yellow Candle (the Silver Age Bizarro GL)?
@Cary: The "Kick Me" gag has been done. :)
And it's been a while since we've seen Ambush Bug on here. Maybe we can soon see him opposite Blade or the Green Goblin.
@Bob: after a four-year gap, it's overdue for re-use by some other character. Maybe with Obnoxio the Clown doing it to Schwab!
Ah yes, that "Kick Me" sign. Now that I see it again, that sign would have to be the size of a billboard.
Jumbotronic, to be precise!
:-)
