I'm surprised they didn't show Sam having a pet bird at his apartment named Redwing. Or have him raise carrier pigoens or something.
With the success of Spider-Ham's appearance in the Spider-Verse movie, I think Disney/Marvel would be well served to make an animated Pet Avengers movie.
Also, there can never be enough Hanna-Barbera crossovers for my tastes so this one is quite welcome. :D
In that spirit, I'd love to see Hong Kong Phooey team up with the Ninja Turtles sometime

A Golden-age hero called the Silver Streak also had a falcon as an ally... and it was one that (due to a blood transfusion, IIRC) shared his super-speed powers.

Too bad you couldn't have worked Ace into this cover. We haven't seen him since he formed the Dogs of War back in #415, and I'd like to see more of him.
(Speaking of that cover, I mentioned Road Rovers at the time, since you said in that entry that combining dogs and superheroes "really captures [your] interest." It's now available on DVD, and I highly recommend it for you.)
Is Redwing the only animal sidekick on Earth-616? I think it might be interesting to see who Ace could team up with, besides him or Lockjaw. (As far as I know, Chewie is just a regular cat.) Wait... maybe Lockheed?
Say... Krypto and Lockheed would be an interesting pairing. Both are extraterrestrial animals with human-level intelligence (or close enough to it) and considerable power. If nothing else, that's something the Collector might take an interest in.
Whoops! Found it -- Lockheed & Krypto met in #605. Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to see them reunite.

To elaborate on my suggestion of Feb. 11, it was never canonically established just who Birdboy really was, as the dangling plot threads concerning both his missing memory _and_ missing father were never satisfactorily tied up. The only things known for certain were that his own solar powers were catalyzed by Birdman's (a la the Golden Age Human Torch and Toro). And that the robotic wings that aided his flying looked to be scaled-down duplicates of those worn by the briefly brainwashed impostor, Bird Girl!
The other day, someone mentioned Rocket, and it took me a moment to realize that they meant the raccoon and not Icon's female partner. Then I wondered, what would happen if Rocket met Rocket?
So the depiction of an adventure where Batman evidently reveals to Birdman that BF is Birdboy all grown-up would seem perfectly feasible.
