Spider-Man and The Huntress

At least now we know who won the battle in STF #742...

I like the huntress best as she was originally conceived - The daughter of Batman and Catwoman who grew to be a hero that shares traits with each of them.  It's too bad the Crisis took that away - the mob daughter version works OK, but isn't nearly as compelling as the Earth-2 origin.  Now that Batman and Catwoman are getting hitched in the mainstream continuity, everything is coming full circle anyway.

Huntress first met Spidey in STF #288...

That really looks like a single piece of art. Are you sure this isn't a real comic? It looks like s great story too. Well done.

Marvel and DC would have to collaborate!

If they did, it would've made more sense to pit the anti-corporate terrorist, The Ghost, against these two rather than Scott Lang and Wanda Van Pym (or whatever the New Wasp is being called in her civilian identity) in the rapidly approaching movie.

@Carycomic: I believe you mean, "Nadia Pym?"

Anon is right, it does like it was one piece.

The Helena Wayne, daughter of Batman, was sooooo much better. The difference in Earth-2 comics Catwoman went to jail, honestly reformed with help of Bruce Wayne and then he married her. In current comics it is Batman and Catwoman (with her being an anti hero most days) which means it will not last. Yes Bruce and Selina have done couple things but only with people like Clark and Lois which means she knows Superman's secret identity too.

@GH: That's assuming the recent "No Justice" story arc hasn't given yet _another_ case of ret-con amnesia!*

*I thought these cosmic crisis crossovers occurred only once a decade. Has it been ten years since "New 52," already?

Ross, I agree with you on Huntress' backstory. The mob boss origin (which was also used for the Arrowverse version) has some legs, but the "daughter of Earth-Two's Batman and Catwoman" story was definitely better.

(Also note that, in pre-Crisis continuity, the first three Earths had their numbers spelled out: Earth-One, Earth-Two, and Earth-Three.)

I also agree with the first Anonymous comment; this is another of your best covers.

Cary & the Anonymous follow-up: In the movie, Wasp II is Hope Van Dyne.

Thanks, Bob. You've restored "Hope" to me.

Addendum: If Batman & Catwoman have a daughter in the current main continuity, she could grow up to be the new Huntress.
