This cover features two characters whose deaths truly shocked me. Katma Tui was a favorite of mine, so I really hated the way she was unceremoniously slaughtered in the pages of Action Comics Weekly by Star Sapphire. It hurt all the more that it was illustrated by famed Green Lantern artist Gil Kane. For some reason, she is one of the rare characters that has never been brought back. I knew that Avengers: Infinity War would have a body count, but I have to admit, I did not see Gamora's death coming. It looks like it just may stick, too, since it occurred before the Thanos SNAP at the end of the film.

Hmmm! Who originally drew this version of Gamora? For a moment, I thought sure I was looking at Domino or Shriek. Maybe even Ace (from the post-Crisis Royal Flush Gang)!

I checked under "Frank Cho," first thing. "Brian Bollard," too. Didn't see any other Gamora reprints that I could use to compare and confirm. Hence, the need for finally asking!

I'm afraid I have to agree with the first anonymous. Most of the Gamora reprints,here, seem to come from George Perez and/or Steve McNiven artwork. To which I must add: both of those gentlemen seem to do her more artistic justice than Messrs. Cho and Ballard.
Gamora appears to be a "new" designer outfit from SHIELD. Her two gun fighting stance is clearly familiar. This must be Frank Cho's homage to Steranko's Nick Fury. I recognize the fighting stance but cannot place where I've seen it, possibly in an issue of... Strange Tales, perhaps?
I'd love to see a cover with Nick Fury and Modesty Blaise together in a story titled... "In Search Of The Rocketeer."
