I made this cover just before it was announced that Kristin Wiig would be playing The Cheetah in in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 - here you can see my choice for the role. I am very curious to see what Wiig, primarily known for her comedy chops, will do with the role. Now that we have seen set photos featuring what appears to be a very alive and un-aged Steve Trevor, I'm wondering what the heck is up with that situation as well.
This marks the 19th appearance of the WW/Captain America romance on the blog...

I would pay so much money to see this movie!!
I assume Chris Pine is back as Trevor the same way that Lyle Wagoner played him in different eras on the old TV show: the original Trevor and his son (or more likely grandson due to the bigger time jump).
Either that, or he was saved by one of the same Cat People who gave Barbara Ann Minerva the ability to become an anthropomorphic cheetah. Both at DC and Marvel, humanoid felines seem to mystically possess nine literal lives!
In your movie, Ross, I'd have that humanoid feline rescuer be one of the Senegalese soldiers who served with the French army during World War I. Perhaps even the mission-educated son of a witch doctor working in one of the medical units!*
*Not a politically correct back story, I know. But, DC has concocted way crazier flashbacks than that! And Marvel, too.
Courtney B Vance as Kang? Really!? Huh. Ok, now I need to see a mock-up of how he'd look as Kang now.
Everyone knows that Steve Trevor was frozen at the end of WWII and rescued by... no, wait, wrong Steve sorry.
Okay, how about these live-action choices: Matt Salinger from 1990's regrettable Captain America film, and Cathy Lee Crosby in the failed pilot for the Wonder Woman TV show from 1974?
Can you do Futurama and Rick & Morty?
It would be better to pair the Cathy Lee Crosby Wonder Woman with the Reb Brown TV movie Captain America (first costume).
I don't usually make requests so I won't now. I'll just let you know about an idea I had, and IF you decide to use it, cool. If not, I'm okay with that too.
I know that they've met before on this site, but if Deathstroke wanted a sparring partner to hone his skills, wouldn't it make sense for him to hire Taskmaster?
I even have a suggested title: "To Train the Terminator".
Dale, he's a great actor. Watch him in The People Vs. OJ Simpson and you'll be convinced. I'd love to see him take a villainous turn as Kang.
With him as Kang, Steve Trevor turning up alive--nearly seventy years after he had been killed in action--would have a comic-plausible explanation. He was temporally hijacked in order to be used as bait for ensnaring Wonder Woman! The motive?
Earth-STF's most amazing Amazon is the long-prophesied Celestial Madonna that Kang is so obsessed with wedding and bedding!
jocasta and metal men or red tornado or joins doom patrol
I would also love to see Futurama and Rick & Morty. I think those characters would fit together nicely.
Rick & Morty should team with Doc Brown and Marty from the comic based on the Back to the Future cartoon.
@Ross, Oh I definitely know he is, no doubt about that, I just would never have thought to cast him as Kang, is all I'm saying, and that's regardless of skin color, just not an option of the top of my head. But I'd be down to see how it played out.
Rick and Morty started its life as a Back to the Future spoof so IMO a R&M/BTTF mashup is a bit redundant
@Anonymous: I would've said the same thing about Aquaman ever meeting Captain Barnacleman (from SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS). But, that didn't stop Ross from eventually brilliantly depicting it!
@Anonymous: I believe you mean "Mermaidman and Barnacleboy?"
Whatever!*
*English translation: You've seen one elementary-school-age spoof of Aquaman, you've seen them all.
Some of the above suggestions made me think you should have a cover featuring several of the heroes who starred in movie serials in the 30s/40: Flash Gordon, Green Hornet, The Shadow, Captain Marvel, Spy Smasher, Captain America, Superman.... (I've been watching these at the gym -- the only way I can stand 20 minutes on the elliptical without being bored to death -- and they're a lot of fun if you only watch one episode a week, as they were meant to be seen!)
OTR: If you get a chance, check out King of the Rocket Men, It's my favorite cliffhanger serial ever, with great flying scenes and plot twists.
Personally I think it would be a great movie EXCEPT CA and WW would be overwhelmed by Kang who can handle the Avengers even if the movie twist had Cheetah turn on Kang.
And it is one of the few I could see Marvel and DC cooperating on.
@Glenn: they could always throw in a rival time traveler (like Immortus or Per Degaton). You know; "the enemies of my enemy are my friends?"
hey, Ross, as usual i love this movie version team-up and....
...it got me thinking
...how about a Mike Coulter Luke Cage meeting the Cress Williams Black Lightning in a TV team-up???
in actually i would love to see special CW/Netflix real meeting of these two fine actors but one of your wonderful covers may be the closest we ever get....
...how about it Ross???
Cover of the month!
Major shout out to Super Team family. They’re killing it with these covers. Absolutely amazing 🤩
