Blue Devil and Sasquatch
I remember when Alpha Flight first came out, John Byrne was on absolute fire. He was at the top of his game and was also on his amazing Fantastic Four run at the same time. It was a great time to be a comics fan, getting a double dose of Byrne goodness each month. I was always sorry that he never returned to the Alpha Flight characters later on in his career.

No one after him ever recaptured the feel he gave the book, though I stayed with it through all it's iterations (at least up to 2000).
Thank you, Ross, for using Classic Shaggy Man (instead of the whiny martinet version)!
And here I was expecting a cover themed to Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with us), but this will do.
It's funny. I have had no problems with the various versions of Superman, Spider-man, et. al. (even Obi-Wan) in the movies, but looking at the trailer for "Solo" all I have is "a bad feeling about this".
Oh wow!! Blue Devil and Alpha Flight!! Two of my favorites!! It's like people at Marvel and DC made a bet they could produce a crossover I would love and be the company's lowest-selling comic. Bwah-ha-ha!! :)
Interestingly, just yesterday the topic of an Alpha Flight movie came up. I suggested Martin Klebba for Puck, and that idea was met with some enthusiasm. (Michael Shanks was also mentioned, for Vindicator.)
I'm with Jay, though; I was hoping for some Star Wars element today, given the day. I'm not really expecting anything next Friday (my birthday) either (though something bizarre like Dr. Strange vs Mxyzptlk or the Inferior Five vs Galactus would be fitting). May 18th is the anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens, so maybe a couple of volcano-themed heroes could grace the cover... but probably won't. Still, your covers that fit the day (July 4th and Christmas especially) are always loads of fun.
Oh, and Shag: This comic would have me intrigued enough to buy it, so there's one more sale at least.
I had no idea this was Star Wars day...
Yep. May the 4th(...be with you).
Paris Cullins Blue Devil and Byrne Alpha Flight were two of my favorite books back then.
When Alpha Flight launched I tried it but gave up when he was doing solo stories rather than team stories. I went back to it at #11 to see who was going to die in #12. Byrne has said this was a Marvel requested book because he never intended Alpha Flight to go further than their one time in the X-Men. He all but said he hated the book.
Strictly speaking, May 25th should be the proper observance of the STAR WARS films. It marks the 41st anniversary of Episode 4: ANH (aka the original just plain "Star Wars") and the 35th anniversary of Episode 6: ROTJ!
Didn't "sasquatch's" essence get transplanted into a dying Snowbird's body?
@Anonymous: May the fur be with her!
