I'd like to take this time to wish all of the visitors to this blog a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope that you are spending this day in the company of the ones you love and it is filled with joy. It's been another fun year on the blog, passing STF #2000, with over 2500 overall and getting close to the 5 millionth visitor! Pros like Tony Isabella, Gail Simone and Patrick Zircher and more have contributed cover ideas, quite an honor. It's been fun to have appearances on Geek to Me Radio, His Dork World/Her Dork World and to be featured on The Geeky Gentlemen podcast, thanks to all of them for having me. This year the comments section has become quite interesting and active, it's been fun to read. I truly appreciate all the kind words, comments and suggestions therein. Of course, a huge thanks to the Patrons of this blog - your support makes a huge difference! It's been a blast, here's to another year!

Merry Christmas and thank you for your art.
Thanks, Brian!
Awesome sweater.
Happy Life Day!
Excellent cover! Two of the world's greatest fictional characters together at last!
My daughter showed me a funny picture last night. The caption talked about some people having the Elf on the Shelf, but this person has a Trooper on a Pooper. It was a Star Wars storm trooper on a toilet.
Merry Christmas to all on this blog who love the comics/sci-fi/fantasy world. Thanks as always to Ross for this wonderful gift given each day. I wish you all the Merriest of Christmases as we reflect the birth of our wonderful Savior Jesus Christ. He is truly the greatest gift of all!
"I had help from above."
Is he referring to...Mighty Mouse?
A very cute pairing, Ross. Thanks for sharing it. And, once again...
MERRY XMAS! :-)
When you wish upon a star your dreams come true.
Alena, haha I watched the Star Wars Holiday Special yesterday!
No-El - Yup, I agreed with the recent sentiment that they were overdue for a pairing, glad you like it!
Mickey, Thank you! Hope you have a great Christmas as well!
Cary - perhaps even a mightier power... Merry X-Mas to you!
I love the classic appearances of Superman and Mickey Mouse (both in red shorts). I think Superman needs the red shorts since it adds needed color. Also, since the costume is based on strongman costumes it makes sense to have trunks over tights to hide certain areas. If his tights show muscles and abs then it would be too revealing in areas that the trunks cover.
I also like Mickey's classic look. I never cared for the redesign that gave him pupils and Caucasian skin. I much prefer the beady eyes and chalk white skin along with the red shorts. I know visually he was a ripoff of Felix the Cat but the design is classic.
True, I really love that they went back to the classic design with the new animated Mickey Mouse shorts.
Very cool. Love the retro vibe. Christmas, 1938. You really made something special here, even by your usually high standards.
I expect you to keep up the good work for the rest of the year and beyond.
Maybe next year... a Hanukkah issue?
Mickey- I mean Merry Christmas! And a Goofy New Year!
Thanks, Anon! Happy Haunukkah!
A goofy new year to you too, Dave!
Nice to see two of the most recognizable characters ever (Superman and Mickey Mouse) plus a reference to a third who is even more recognizable (Santa Claus).
Maybe a future cover could team Bart Simpson and Hot Stuff.
Merry ChrisTmas back atcha, although one day late! (I don't have internet access at home, and the public library was closed on Christmas, naturally.
Inspired pairing, once again. I love the old look of both of these characters.
And a slightly-belated "Merry Christmas!" to you...
... or a slightly early one by the Julian Calendar.
^_^
