Spider-Man and Aqualad

I'm not sure what the original Aqualad's status is thse days with all of the reboots and revamps DC has had over the past several years.  I know that there's a new Aqualad  that has appeared in the comics and TV's Young Justice (son of Black Manta), but I don't know if that means that Garth has been completely written out.  Like Wally West, I hope he gets another chance - as a founding member of the Teen Titans, he deserves better.

He's still around as Tempest in the new Titans series along with the others from the "fab 5", Mal Duncan, Bumblebee, and Lilith as Omen.

How is Spidey breathing underwater?

He's holding his breath.

More likely, Spidey's using some of that gill-juice Reed Richards originally used the first time they fought beside namor against Attuma (immortalized in a now-classic episode of Hanna-Barbera's 1967 FF cartoon).

As to Aquald's mistreatment? In the comic book spin-off of the videogame, INJUSTICE 2, he's now an eco-terrorist...with a fondness for tidal waves! So, yeah; he is among the DC superheroes who've been given the shortest shrift over the last three decades.

That being said, a team-up like this, in an actual i.c.c. would get my hard-earned bucks in a New York minute! If only in the hope that DC and Marvel were finally answering a too-long ignored question.

Is mermaid Linda Brown really Pete Parker's foster cousin?

Geez, Cary Comic, I get the fact that you think that almost no cover posted on this site is complete without your half-baked, often bewildering "insights", but this time you've outdone yourself. When Ross explains that Spider-Man is not breathing underwater but merely holding his breath you take upon yourself to contradict him and offer an alternate explanation that is "more likely". Bumptious much?

P.S. It's because Spidey is NOT breathing underwater that he can only go "so far" in his underwater search, genius.

Oh, goody! It looks like we're going to end 2017 with another Duel of Half-wits. As if their first one wasn't one too many, in itself!

I will turn this car RIGHT AROUND!

Good one, Ross.

You know, Anonymous, it’s very unfair of you to insult Cary Comic. All he did is make a comment.

As for me, I feel both chastised and deeply humbled by the stinging and insightful rebuke of your rapier pen.

Then, as Hemsworth of Asgard might say:

"Practice what thou preach."

Anonymous, MY criticism of Cary Comic was based on a comment that he DID make. YOUR criticism of him was based on an action (engaging in a verbal duel) that he DID NOT take. See the difference?

So what now, Anonymous? Are you going to practice what you preach or are you going to prolong this duel of half-wits?

Anonymous said...

Only as long as it takes to point out that his comment was perfectly legit. Your over-reaction was undeniably not.

Thank you, Anonymous, for living down to my expectation and proving what a hypocrite you really are. I also love the way Cary Comic went from being a “half-wit” to his comment being “perfectly legit”. At least stick to one narrative.

I am left wondering what you hoped to accomplish in the first place. If you really objected to “another Duel of Half-wits” then why did you inject yourself in the first place? Surely you must have known that your comment would only fan the flames.

Er... in the Young justice TV show, Garth was around though not a main character. He was in a love triangle with the afore-mentioned Aqualad that is the son of the Black Manta.

Further details kept under wraps as spoilers since it's a big plot deal on the show.. and it's flat excellent, clearly you haven't seen it, but I recommend you treat yourself to the entire series, in order, as soon as you can manage it, Ross.

Make sure to watch it in correct order, it's really not a kiddy childrens show, it's more like Gargoyles was, same show runners.

And one would have to be a half-wit to mistake "Gargoyles" for just another Disney children's show.

Half-wits native to Earth Thirteen, that is.
