Power Girl and Power Man in: "Poached... by the Parasite!"

The Parasite is a great villain because of his simple but very effective powers.  Having the ability to gain strength by draining energy from others  - and also gaining any super-power present in the process - makes him a versatile villain to write for.  Since he can absorb the traits any opponent that he can come in contact with, he can face off against heroes with a very wide range of power levels and it will still be an interesting fight.

This is the fourth appearance of The Power Couple -  They found a bounty on their heads in STF #1892,  faced the mob together in STF #773 and first met in STF #71...

...perhaps the "power" couple should meet Captain Power???

I hope the Parasite over-extends himself by draining Brother Power The Geek!

Or, at the very least, gets taken down by his cousin Jessica.*

*This is the Rudy Jones version. Isn't it?

Ross, occasionally you mention upcoming covers, which lead to some questions on process:
1) On average, how long does producing a cover take?
2) Do you work on more than one cover at a time (for example, adding in the logos for several covers all at once)?
3) How far ahead do you plan?
4) Do you do it all, or do you have some helpers on the research, mastheads, etc.?

Given how much trouble the big boys have getting a comic out monthly, your ability to get a cover out daily continues to amaze!

1) Generally 4-5 hours
2) one at a time
3) I try to stay a couple of months ahead in case I get creator's block
4) All me, it's a one man operation.

I remember when they introduced the Parasite in Action Comics #340, 1966. Al Plastino drew the story, utilizing some Curt Swan swipes. That same year, there was a Superman cartoon adapting the story, but for some stupid reason the Parasite looked absolutely nothing like the comic book version. Check it out here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3ytdz9

I wonder how the Parasite would do in a battle with the Absorbing Man.

I remember that cartoon! I don't think Filmation had the technology, back then to do a purple-skinned mutation. So, they went with a mustached pastiche of Marvel's Absorbing Man!

What about Absorbing Man and the original form of Amazing Man? Also Kevin of Ben 10: Alien Force.

I always thought that this would be an interesting team up for Marvel and DC to consider. Also, I always thought that another good match up would be Wonder Man and Wonder Woman.

This idea came to me when Marvel did the parody issue of What If? with Fred Hembeck's art in many of the gags. The one in particular was What if Power Man were a girl and Wonder Man were a woman?

This led me to think that putting all four (Wonder Man, Power Man, Wonder Woman, and Power Girl) in a team up would be a good story. It would be called Power & Wonder.

@Mickey: Cap would probably be a little jealous. He _is_ married to the Amazing Amazon in this universe, after all! ;-)

Actually, I did have Wonder Woman and Wonder Man go on a single Date - Way back in STF #36...
