Monkeyman & O'Brien and Angel & The Ape

Ever since 1933 folks have been intrigued by the pairing of an oversized ape with a beautiful woman.  Maybe its a statement on the male/female dynamic by focusing on extreme versions of each, or maybe it's just for the cool visual it provides.  Or maybe King Kong made such an impact that future generations of creators were inspired to follow suit.  Probably a combination of the three, and I have to admit, I usually enjoy tales with the set-up.

Wow!
Isn't that a tale as old as time - "beauty and the beast"?

A natural and appropriate pairing. By the way, the original King Kong (accept no substitutes) has the greatest closing line in movie history....

@Sonofjack: And Julius Schwartz (DC's answer to Stan "the Man" Lee) had the greatest philosophy...which I shall now paraphrase.

"Nothing sells better than a comic with an ape on the cover."

"I doubt the average monkey would _have_ you for an uncle!"

Love it!

Now, this team-up should have to face the Red Ghost & his Super-Apes.
