Personally, I never heard of Zippy before WOTI #1. Was he a contemporary of Outcault's Yellow Kid?

Another brilliant idea! (Anonymous, Zippy originated in underground comics in the '70s. His image was sometimes used in the early Punk Rock movement.)
Only in the pages of WAR OF THE INDEPENDENTS (as unpredictably published by Red Anvil Comics).
I only know of Zippy from a reference or two in Clonezone's adventures.
Still, how about a meeting between him and Ziggy Stardust?
Check out the earlier Zippy collections. I enjoy the newspaper strips but loved the underground comics. Not for everyone but recommended if you like absurdist humor.
Frankly this is one I could have done without... no offense intended, just not my cup of tea.
