From what I've read, Black Manta is in the film and could be the primary bad guy. I'd wouldn't be surprised if Orm has more of the Sinestro role from the Green Lantern film -- the 'mirror' to compare & contrast the callow hero with, with setup to become the main bad guy in the second film.

I've seen most all of your team-ups but keep wondering why the following has never happened:
Captain Marvel(Billy Batson and Captain Mar-Vel (both of them)
Daredevil(Lev Gleason Pub) and Daredevil(Matt Murdock)
Ghost Riders (Rex Fury, Carter Slade, Johnny Blaze, etc)
The early Quality comics had an IRON MAN robot in one of it's early chronologies. And just look what you could do with Westerns.
The Durango Kid vs the Outlaw Kid
Red Mask vs. Billy the Kid
Straight Arrow vs. The Apache Kid
Or even...
Lassie and Rin-Tin-Tin
Trigger and Black Fury
Gee, if I could only get the old JASC Paint Shop Pro 7, I could even do some of these. I can't even figure out the new types you are using- Photoshop or Corel's Paint Shop Pro (any variety. Besides, they are all too expensive for my Social Security.
Re: the titular question? I'll bet it has something to do with the Inhuman Triton.
Captain Marvel and Mar-Vell have met at least twice. the Daredevils have met on the blog as well. I'm not as familiar with the western heroes.
Pretty cool match up Ross. I see this version of Captain marvel putting up a hell of a fight, but ultimately Aquaman's just more powerful. Now if this were the Starlin version with the nega bands, then Arthur's screwed.
I really don't like seeing Momoa cast as Aquaman, "realsitic" or not, otherwise Patrick Wilson would fit as Orm better.

So where do you get the backgrounds for these covers?
I love the old "spaceman" version of Mar=Vel. I would love to see him team-up with Adam Strange in his classic "spaceman" costume....
I get backgrounds from all over - I often like to use animation cel backgrounds because there aren't a lot of figures that I need to "erase" first.
