Hawkman and Spider-Man
Spider-Man has always had a love-hate relationship with the police, so I think it would be interesting to see him interact with space cop Katar Hol. I can see their different approaches lending conflict to a situation even if they ultimately share the same goal, and it would be fun to watch them bounce off of one another.

Pure Silver Age goodness right here! Kartar will think Spidey's too much of a pun-spinning clown, and Peter will undoubtedly think Katar's a no-fun hardass. Hilarity ensues and the reader wins regardless of the outcome.
Excellent!!!
I can just see Byth using his shapechanging power to impersonate Spidey attacking Hawkman so that the latter goes after the webslinger. Ulterior motive? To use Spidey's expertise in kicking the Vulture's butt against Katar!
I remember the original cover: MTU, Spidey and the Angel (or with all of the [original] X-Men?) against Sauron in the Savage Land, yes?
Yes I think that was cover. I can see Spider-man making jokes comparing Hawkman to the Vulture until he got a mace in the face.
